Pretty much all I have seen you talk about on this forum is how India is so good and will keep getting much better than Pakistan. That's like the only thing you've ever discussed. Yes, we get the point that Indian GDP is high compared to us (not that different in terms of per capita) and it's growing. You seem to have some sort of an obsession when it comes to these things.

SMC.. 20 years back, your Per Capita was 50% higher than ours. Today we are about 10% ahead of you. Do you see where this is going?

Well you seem to be comparing apples to oranges. Similar comparisons could be made about US and Canada. If we're to believe you, US is so much better than Canada. Yet we all know different. India is a much bigger country, all right.

The question here is not better or worse, but more or less powerful. No debate there between US and Canada there I presume..

Yeah, well Pakistan's growth hasn't stopped forever and indian growth hasn't been inscribed in stone.

India has a GDP of $1327.5 Trillion at the beginning of this financial year, It expected to grow b/w 8.5% to 9.7% (worst and best case scenario).

If Indian economy grows by 9.7% (best case scenario) India's GDP will increase by $128.8 billion to $1456 Billion.

Pakistan's GDP at the beginning of this financial was $173.9 Billion, it expected to grow by 0 to 2.5% (again worst case and best case).

If Pakistan economy grows by 2.5 %(best case) , its GDP at the end of this FY will stand at $178 Billion

Manmohan Singh has envisioned India, should grow b/w 9-10% for next 3 decades.

If India keeps up 10% growth rate, it will be crossing $ 2 trillion($2145 Billion mark in year 2014.
If Pakistan keeps up the 4.5% growth rate from 2011 , its GDP will be $212.1 Billion by year 2014.

So if everything goes as planned 2014 is the year India Will Grow by the GDP of Pak annually and not before that.

Yea, well that's great. I am not interested in a topic meant to boost one's ego.

Pakistan growth rate hasn't been inscribed in a stone, all right. In fact, it is expected to go up to 6% in 2012. All these ego boosters are obviously assuming that things will remain the same for next 30 years or so.

Its first important for Pakistan to break the downward cycle..

Downward cycle? You acting like it's been like this for a long time. First it was due to sanctions, then we had a brief break now it's due to WoT heating up.

Btw, the 6% growth rate is indeed a prediction. If it happens, then it will indeed break the "downward cycle" like you call it (trend of growth rates in mere 2 year period now are being called cycles?).

3.5 years old news article..??

So how much the numbers have changed since? I remember seeing an article in 2009 on the same issue, numbers didn't change by much at all.

3.5 years old news article..??

Even if the article is old.. nothing much has changed and its a shocking reality. We have failed to transform this massive accumulation of wealth to commoners.

Very basic things that can be introduced in grass root levels has been uprooted by successive governments.. Having a bigger GDP doesnt mean we are on par with the bigger ones.. Countries with lesser GDP has much better quality life and facilities than us.

Few states of India still lag behind in many things and its a social disaster. Anyway things are getting improving and it will take some time for us to reach some distance.

Due to the loss of WOT , floods etc, i guess next 5 years would be tough for Pakistan after that they can start growing really fast, problem with pakistan is the larget amount of debt, which requires debt servicing.otherwise they could utilise the money they spent on paying the debt.

Meanwhile in next five years India will grow to 3 trillion dollar economy, so may be by 2020 we will be close to 3 trillion .. now that means we will be able to help our poors to reduce poverty by a large margin

when pakistan starts to kick, it will kick hard in all fields, pray for that day not to come indians!!!
