India widens footprint at MAKS-2013

Seriously nobody knows a s@it right now.

We dont know what FGFA will be. Just rumours. But there is good possibility that IAF has already abandoned the twin seater idea. So we too might complete our FGFA well in time.

Lets wait for some big mouth to spit it out.

Almost all reports have indicated that we have backed off from 2 seat version due to

1)stealth aspect

2)more cost of testing and development

so we will in all probity see only single seat version only............btw all other 5th generation fighters are single seat versions only

Yes haven't heard much on that front. Is FGFA preliminary work complete, i'm little doubtful here. So that should mean the first prototypes that come to India will be vanilla T-50 for evaluation only. FGFA is still atleast 4-5 years away IMHO.

I suppose a better word would've been Teething Problems, but then which complex system doesn't have one. I think it is prudent to be patient here.

Who can comment on fgfa when 25% of the work will be done by super agency like HAL??

We can only hope that the aircraft does come out!!

However, the biggest surprise of the MAKS-2013 for Indian visitors was the mobile integrated TOR-1 ME air defence surface-to-air missile system mounted on TATA cross-country 6x6 and 8x8 truck chassis. According to its manufacturer Almaz-Antei Concern's representatives, it was the Indian customer's desire to mount their complex on TATA chassis, which were brought from India to Russian plant for fitting the missiles module, loader and command post.

When did we decide to buy this..? I thought SHORADs were still not finalized.
