India votes against Iran in IAEA

Its all about the juice which a country provides . Both US and Iran have given significant aid to Pakistan . More Iran has a degree of homogeneity with Pakistan over some regional issues .

ha ha..so you yourself admitting that when it comes to you,you look for your own benefit. I don't blame you for this. There is no permanent friends. Everyone is selfish in dealing with international affairs. So get down from your moral high grounds and stop blaming India of backstabbing. We did not. Rather we have a clear policy. Despite having good relations with Iran we never backed them on nukes, so no question of backing them now.
Over and out

BTW I would believe India back-stabbed Iran only if anyone shows me some link which establish that India supported it to have nukes before. We never supported it and hence voting against it now. Also we are not in nuclear proliferation business like some of our neighbors.

US blacklists two Indian firms

January 02, 2006

At a time when India and the US are looking at dates on offer – Feb 28 to March 1 – to firm up President Bush’s visit to India, Washington’s decision to blacklist two Indian companies has irked South Block.

Two Indian chemical companies along with six Chinese-run firms and one Austrian firm have been banned for doing business with the US for allegedly selling missile goods and chemical arms material to Iran. The penalties apparently have been under consideration for the last several weeks and have been approved by the Deputy Secretary of state, Robert Zeollick. Reports from the US say they will be formally published in the federal register over the next several days.

The two Indian firms identified are: Sabero Organics Chemical and the Sandya Organics Chemicals. The first company is run by Mohit Chuganee, a US national holding a PIO card. His company came under the scanner for exporting a single 200-tonne consignment of phosphate two years ago to Raja Shimi Industries in Iran. He claims that he followed all rules under the Chemical Weapons Convention and obtained an end-user certificate stating that this was meant for pesticide production.

India has strongly protested against the US sanctions calling the action “unjustified”. In a statement, the Foreign Office said, “Our preliminary assessment is that the transfer of such chemicals is not in violation of our obligations or our international obligations.” “The imposition of sanctions is thus, in the view of the Government of India, is unjustified, the statement said.

India’s reaction was matched by the howls of protest from Beijing. Reacting angrily, the Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed “strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition” to the sanctions. It demanded a change in this “mistaken action”.

What has frustrated New Delhi is the timing of the announcement just like the one last September when two Indian scientists were blacklisted under the same Iran Non-Proliferation Act, 2000. Each time a milestone is crossed, sources said, such an announcement spoils the atmosphere.

sorry but one has to be of subnormal intelligence to accept and present that as a proof of Indian state or any responsible agency's involvement in helping Iran to acquire nuke and plus can you point out the word 'nuke' in that article I did not find it.

US sanctions two India firms for transfers to Iran
Posted on: Thursday, 27 July 2006, 14:47 CDT

By Carol Giacomo, Diplomatic Correspondent

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Bush administration has decided to impose sanctions on two Indian firms for missile-related transactions with Iran, U.S. officials told Reuters on Thursday.

The disclosure came hours after the U.S. House of Representatives late Wednesday overwhelmingly agreed the United States should sell nuclear technology to India and rejected a move by critics to delay the vote over concerns New Delhi had not sufficiently aided U.S. efforts to contain Iran.

Under terms of the U.S. Iran-Syria Non-proliferation Act, "we are going to report to Congress about transactions by two private Indian companies with Iran," one official said.

He and another official declined to identify the firms but one official said the transfers involve "dual-use items related to missiles."

While the administration is mandated by law to report violations of the act to Congress every six months, sanctions are discretionary but "they won't be waived" in these cases, the other official said.

The officials did not specify the exact sanctions to be imposed but in previous cases, sanctioned companies were barred from receiving U.S. government contracts, assistance or military trade as well as certain controlled goods which have both civilian and military purposes.

Congressional critics had accused the administration of withholding any conclusive word on possible sanctions until after the vote on the nuclear deal, so the issue would not affect the vote.

The nuclear agreement is viewed as the cornerstone of an evolving new strategic alliance between India and the United States, former Cold War adversaries.

The administration has repeatedly defended India as having an excellent record of protecting sensitive technology.

According to lawmakers, the United States since 2003 has filed at least eight non-proliferation sanctions against at least seven Indian companies or persons, including two sanctions in December 2005. The new sanctions would add to that tally.

Bottom line:

India will play double game with everyone. Who is the victim of Indian double game depends on which way indian trying to gain. This time india wants to gain from already shaky "strategic" partnership from US thus Iran is victim of indian double game.

But if this shaky "strategic" partnership does not work out than india will act like it did not against Iran and try to gain milage from iran resources.

Question is:

Would Iran buy this double face indian game? Well as long Iran feel pressure it will not react to indian double face. But as US pressure getting less and less effective may be someday iran will answer indian double face in kind.

its not dubble game bro .its game of country benifits .indians work for there country's benifits .if some one is fool its not there falt.international game is who you secure your country's benifits thats what indian pakistan usa doing.

"missile-related" is not synonymous to "nuke related"' Is your brain still apprehensive about accepting that??

1. Private companies.
2. dual-use items related to missiles does not mean nukes-- comprehension problem??

To much of your disappointment we have the deal in our pocket.

One question to you: Do you think the world will be safe with Ahmedinajad threatening to attack the whole world (possibly with Nukes). He is a believer that the holocaust was staged?... Do you support his stand? At the end of the day the question remains: what is right and what is wrong.... do we not disagree with our friends if he/she is going in the wrong path? Atleast I do.

Question is:

Would Iran buy this double face indian game? Well as long Iran feel pressure it will not react to indian double face. But as US pressure getting less and less effective may be someday iran will answer indian double face in kind.
Answer: Does not matter if Iran buys this or not. Iran should agree to open up its nuclear facilities to IAEA. If they are not doing anything wrong it would help if the world is aware of the direction they are going. Being secretive about this only raises suspicions and unrest. [/QUOTE]

Thank you India, you showed your face to Iranians before it was too late.

Is this discussion about what Ahmedinajad belives? Or india voted against Iran because of Ahmedinajad questioned holocaust? As you suggested that was the case then who is indian friend iran or zionist entity? Choice is either or not both. Stick to the discussion.

If india or zionist entity can not open up its nuclear facilities to IAEA then why should Iran or any other country should not enjoy the same right? Do you see how oxy moronic you sound?

not first time .i am happy that iran taste this again and again from his so called friends.they should know who is real friend of them.poor iran

Very true... as long iran is employing indians.... i would not shed tears for it.
But i believe all this iran - israel standoff is a big drama. It just helped to strengthend iranian hindu friendly regime.
I remember few years back when us was ruled by Bush.... political position of iranian mullahs were very weak hence US-Israel came up with axis of evil and Ahmadinijad won elections and now once again his political position is weak and again a drama is being staged.
In real terms what matters is results, rest is just fair / unfair course of actions.
We should not forget that iranians also transfered Pakistan's centrifuge designs to US and India.

:coffee:I don't know why are ppl afraid of Ahmadinajab he has no airforce ?

This is also very true... state of iranian airforce and flying skills of its pilots are pathetic.
iran does not have even one squarden defending its border with Afghanistan, it will be walk in the park if US wish to neutralise iran.
Iran's defene is focused on threat perception from UAE rather than US or Israel.

Not sure when people will realize there is no such thing as friendship between countries, there is only agreements and understanding. It is an official relationship hence everything is signed and documented, ever heard of doumenting your relationship with friend. India did the right thing, it is much better then supporting prolification.
