India unlikely to get its First Stealth Fighter FGFA before 2025

Indians can't quit Russian weapon at all, USA will never give you TOT. check the Javelin deal.

Unless you buckle down to indigenous weapon, no one will take you there in the end.
Yes they will if India will become Nato ally all to counter you guys and The way you guys are racing up with US that time is not very far away.india is still denied taking side with Nato they are eager to let india join there faction eg US offers india to join the war against ISIS and put sanctions on Iran but we remain neutral but soon time will come due to chinese expansionist nature where India will became main ally with Nato &USA and its allies in Asia & Pacific.

then BD will use J31 to bully india as will and have fun.

Modi don't want India to become a sidekick of Nato, he has a bigger dream than you. The only reason i appreciate India is because you are independant, which means you have balls.

Japan don't join Nato even they hate China like hell.

Nations do anything to face superior threat it bitter but hard truth.like in the past we are been with USSR what difference it makes if side Nato.

They both take you as cash cow as granted.

I believe it's a good idea to break DRDO down to several entities, so they could compete with each other to increase efficiency.

lol stupid han, russians are still reaping off you guys of the $ you chinese earn in sweatshops daily,
one example is chinese are so much dependent on russian aircraft engines and after doing billions of backhand deals with russians you guys are no where close to manufacture a reliable chinese engine matching durability and performance of any russian engines.
so first thinking we Indians are cash cows chinese are much bigger cash cow for russians, you see every single report publishing of indo russian deals but you never see what kind of deals hans are having with russian behind the curtains, Indians have many option to look for technology other than russians but think the situation of hans you have to go again and again to russians no matter how much they reap you off, lately we see lots of bad blood between chinese and russians regarding the reverse engg. still we are seeing more orders for russian planes and engines and other air defense batteries.
So before you pull Indians down you hans are sailing in worst waters with russians for long.
India can have ToT from French, Israeli, Japan even US but you have only one place to go Russians and even with Russians we have much better tech. relations. Russians are more comfortable to share with Indians their latest designs than hans simply because Russian is also your neighbor who will never want military dominance of chinese in their region.

you make better sense than him or may be he Is trolling!!!..I dnt want India to be a puppet of us

Aren't we suppose to get the prototype in 2016-17??

I hope doing this Russia is not signalling India that the only country which can provide high-tech weapons is Russia.
If this is the case then India should pour money and efforts to develop AMCA or jointly develop with France or Israel.

Better stick to AURA and AMCA!!!! Fund aggressively and go for JV sub components like stealth, engine, radar etc.

:D So basically you think that we can't make AMCA alone, since we need foreign support on ALL key developments, which then again is exactly what we get from FGFA, stealth design, NG radar and engine.

Yes we can do it alone but there are two problems,

1) It will result in high cost and time overrun.
2) The tech may not be the best when inducted.

These two can be avoided by collaborating with Israel, France, Russia etc. Go to the companies those have huge R&D in these fields.

Ultimately our aim is two,

1) Give the fighter to IAF
2) Designed and developed in India.

both are equally important.

Yes we can do it alone but there are two problems,

Based on what? The successful developments of Kaveri engine or LRDE's puls doppler radar, or the great work ADA does in designing aircrafts?
Be realistic man, we are still stuck in core developments of the 4th generation and need to get that done before we can dream bigger.

These two can be avoided by collaborating with Israel, France, Russia

Again, that's exactly why we went with the joint development on FGFA, because we wanted to reduce time and costs to get a NG fighter, so duplicating that only for pride reasons, because we can call AMCA an INDIAN stealth fighter doesn't make sense. FGFA gives us all that you state, with higher capability in a faster time and it would be much better if DRDO would focus on how to increase the indigenous content in FGFA, than wasting time on another stealth fighter for IAF.
They want to develop an AESA radar? Great, but aim on one that is capable enough to replace the Russian one in FGFA. They want to develop indigenous avionics and weapons? Great, but what stops them to integrate it into FGFA?
