India trying to occupy Bangladesh territory

BDR troops, even after Pilkhana tragedy, fight mercilessly and without fear. Army officers who command them are even more determined. BDR troops are very dangerous groups of fighters. But, our political leadership is weak. So, instead of giving a fight, BDR has to accept the political negotiations to get our land back from the grasp of unholy India.

As to the earlier part of your post, sounded more of a fan boy stuff. This self pity is what has plagued our region. Come out of it and face the world as it is. Stop patting your back.

Coming to the rest of your post, such a mutiny in any other armed forces in the world, would have been dealt with a strong hand and critically. But i see you guys are an exception.

Land disputes are never resolved by war's. What you are suggesting is an aggression by BD forces against state of india to acquire this land and that the only reason stopping them is a weak central government, else nothing could have stopped your forces from taking this land by fight with INDIA. Stop day dreaming, if you can.

Sreepur border tense after BSF tries to intrude

Bdnews24.com . Sylhet

Tension ran high on Friday on Sreepur border near Jaintiapur in Sylhet as the BDR resisted BSF trying to intrude and cultivate 20 acres of disputed land near the border, a BDR official said.

Both Bangladesh and Indian border guards took positions and were in a belligerent mood, said Fazlur Rahman, commander of Sreepur Border Post.

‘BSF aided by Indian Khasia tribesmen and equipped with power tillers tried twice but could not succeed in the face of our stiff opposition,’ he said.

The Jaintiapur Union Parisad chairman, Mohammad Ekhlasur Rahman, said 15-20 Indian nationals backed by the BSF tried first at Minatali around 11:00am and then at Ami at 12 noon to intrude.

BSF troops of Ranghangkang and Naijuri camps strengthened their patrol, while BDR members of Sreepur camp reinforced. Earlier on Thursday, Indian nationals tried to intrude into Bangladesh through the same border area.

You're right. In this case, you have to put the blame on the govt not the people.... Its all because of this India-backed anti-Bangladeshi govt. who have ruined the country and its future and still on their way.but they're not gonna last long.

No, what the government did was right. BDR was rouge and needed to be streamlined. As for the Anti-BD / Pro-India stuff .. tell us something new. You guys have found a easy excuse to blame others for your misfortunes. If it helps your country, be it so.

In real, BD lost in the cyclones and now blaming India for all things.

.
since I guess this thread has become a discussion for 'adversely possessed' lands can somebody post that Daily Star article where it said how much land eroded from the BD side to India and Myanmar and how many lands are occupied 'adversely'.
These I remember from all those BDR-BSF talks articles.

I request the Indian members to post some articles from their media too.The BSF DG a couple of years ago raised the issue of eroded lands.

Fan boy or what, BDR has proved its worth in Padua and then in Roumary in 2001. East Bengal Regiment (EBR) troops have proved themselves in the Khemkaran sector of the then West Pakistan in the 1965 war. Your wet dream in 1965 was to drink TEA in Lahore the next morning.

It never materialized because of ferocious fighting by the EBR troops. This EBR received more war medals than any other Regiment of Pakistan army in 1965 war. Do you have any idea what does it mean? Both BDR and EBR proved how to fight a war in 1971, so do not say bulls*it against our armed forces. They are our pride, and do never forget we all are fighters.

We do not have to prove ourselves or to pat ourselves. You are patting yourself of KARGIL, when it was a compromise sponsored by the USA. Because Newaz Sharif agreed to a troop pull out and accepted a ceasefire, he was toppled by Gen. Musharref. Please say something that truly proves that the vegies are good fighters.

Come with your million troops if you want to fight against us. But do not steal our land like petty thieves. It is disgusting and shameful to see such a big-bodied but ant-minded thief. Better come and invade us to see the result. We will just break India's long teeth.

Indian BSF occupies vast land on Pratpur frontier in Sylhet

Indian Intruders forced to retreat in the pace of stiff resistant by BDR

Wednesday August 12 2009 00:11:40 AM BDT

Indian BSF troops on Tuesday suddenly massed in and occupied a vast tract of Bangladesh land on Pratpur frontier in Goainghat upazila, triggering tensions among people in the border area as they recalled a 2001 clash between the two forces.(UNB)

Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) sources said the trespassing Indian border guards retreated in the face of strong position taken by the BDR jawans.[/I]

According to BDR and local sources, a group of 70-80

BSF members of Padua camp moved 300 meters into the Bangladesh territory at about 12 noon and entrenched their armed positions hoisting red flag.

The Indian side claimed the ownership of 500 acres of land close to border pillars no 1270, 1271, 1272, 1273, said Pratapur BDR outpost commander Naik Subedar Joynul Ahmed.

"BDR personnel staged instant protest, hoisted red flag and asked the BSF intruders to quit the land. But, the intruding BSF declined to leave the area. Consequently, BDR issued red alert hoisting the red flag," says a report from the area.

People living in the frontier area said the BSF built up its strength after forcibly occupying the land. This created panic among the frontier people.

BDR 21 Battalion Commander Lt Col Zahirul Alam said, "The BSF men had to retreat at about 1pm in the wake of tough position taken by the BDR and strong protests."
Director General of BDR Maj General Mainul Islam told UNB that there have been some adverse possessions of land in India and Bangladesh since the Pakistan times. "Our position is to maintain our previous respective positions and the joint border working group will settle the matter," he said.

A BDR-BSF skirmish was triggered by such possession of land in the same area by the Indian Border Security Force members in 2001, at the fag-end of the previous Awami League government's rule. In a chain action, a brief encounter occurred on the northern Burimari frontier in Lamonirhat district.

An earlier UNB report from Sylhet published in The Bangladesh Today on August 9 said: "Tension was running high along Shreepur border point in Jointapur upazila as border guards of neighbouring India repeatedly walked into Bangladesh territories removing BDR's red flag. Sources said BDR have been put on high alert along the border and their presence reinforced to tackle any emergency situation.

They said BSF troops frequently walked into Bangladesh territories through Amki and Mnatila border points for the last three days and were helping Indian Khasia community members capture disputed lands along the border, escalating tension in the area.

Meanwhile, BDR troops hoisted red flags on the disputed lands and urged the BSF men not to cross the point, a request repeatedly ignored by the Indian border guards. The Indian border guards were also learned to have removed the red flags, prompting BDR to send a protest letter to them.

BDR also asked their Indian counterpart to sit in a flag meeting to defuse the tension".

PADUA CALM AS BSF RETREATS
after BDR protest
Staff Correspondent

The situation on the Padua frontier in Pratappur returned to normal on Wednesday, a day after the Indian border guards tried to occupy a large swathe of land triggering tension on the borders.
Brigadier general Obaidul Haque, deputy director general of the Bangladesh Rifles, told New Age on Wednesday night that tension was defused as the BSF left the area they had intruded into.
Quoting colonel Akhtaruzzaman, commander in the Sylhet sector headquarters of the BDR, New Age correspondent in Sylhet on Wednesday reported that the members of the Border Security Forces of India retreated on Tuesday afternoon after members of the Bangladesh Rifles went there and asked them to leave the Bangladesh territory.
全ituation in Padua and Pratappur has returned to normal Tuesday evening,・the BDR official said after returning to Sylhet from the spot.
He said the Indian border guards, who intruded into the Bangladesh territory and tried to occupy about 200 acres farmland along the Padua and Pratappur frontiers, had left the area in the face of resistance from the BDR.
Colonel Akhtaruzzaman said that on Tuesday evening he had talked with the BSF痴 deputy inspector general in Shillong in the Indian state of Meghalaya over phone about the BSF痴 intrusion. 
羨 flag-meeting at the battalion commander-level between the border guards of the two countries will be held soon to discuss the issue,・he said.
But locals in Jaintapur frontier area said that the Bangladesh Rifles had intensified patrol in the area from Tuesday afternoon, following the incident.
About 80 BSF members along with 30 to 40 Khasia tribesmen crossed into the Bangladesh territory at midday Tuesday and tried to occupy some 250 acres of farmland in Padua ignoring the warning signal of BDR personnel.
They retreated after the BDR promptly built up resistance, the sources said. 
The Indian side claimed ownership of over 500 acres of land close to border pillars number 1270, 1271, 1272, 1273.
The BDR personnel made an instant protest, hoisted red flag and asked the BSF intruders to quit the Bangladesh territory. The BSF men, who at first declined to leave the area, retreated after the BDR issued a red alert.

.
They retreated after the BDR promptly built up resistance, the sources said.

BSf probably thought that after BDR mutiny,BDR will not be able to prevent their intrusion like 2001.Now when they realised that this could turn into another disaster for them, they decided to retreat.

We should strengthen our BDR,in terms of number, equipments and also increase their pay. They are the ones who faces trouble first.
