You claimed that I defended China, I asked you where I did that in this thread. We are on page five now. So, it's not hard for you to show me where I did that.

The right word is status co. to explain India's problems.

As far as taking over China is concern then it is far/distant dream.

I took many countries as an example to show that the statement "speaking English" is an advantage in the world market is not proven.

Maybe you should get out of the well to see that the world is bigger than your petty India vs. China outlook.

WTF is wrong with some of the Indian members? Leave that German guy alone and let him have his opinion. Are all non-Chinese members supposed to support India and criticize China in any debates whatsoever? As if defending China is a crime. Well I guess so, but then holding a minority view always draws negativity.

Back to the topic, China can and should stand on its own regardless of any negative criticisms in the world press. With its unique historical context and civilization, China has the freedom to choose the government form that it deems suitable at this stage of development. You may think the government is authoritarian, but this government was chosen by the people when the majority of people chose the CCP over the nationalist party. Even though I disagree with the people's choice, I accept it. There are always discontented groups in any forms of government.

You also have to understand that the CCP has very wide grass-roots support. They don't rule from some some almighty seat with iron fists like some of people here claimed. The CCP members might be our relatives, our friends, our classmates, as is my case. Even though China does not have universal suffrage, the government does not rule the country like some dictatorship. Again, no other country can probably copy China's form of government due to historical context.

When I was younger, I had negative attitude towards the government. Now I accept the compromise. A democracy that grows from grass roots gradually is better than one imposed from outside. Government is part of social development and China's social development is not ready for full-fledged democracy.
