India to test tactical ballistic missile Prahaar between 14 to 17 June

.
Well it's not me the Article Posted by OP stated that it's to Counter Pakistan's Nasr Missile :D :D

Prahaar, which can be comparable with ATACMS missile of the US, is a counter to Pakistan's 'Nasr'. Developed by DRDO with the support of Missile System and Quality Assurance Agency (MSQAA), the missile is small, lean and slim to achieve better and high maneuvering mid-air.

Then the person reporting it does not know how military systems work.

When Did India Buy S-300????

Around 1992, I think.

.
Probably because it is a derivative of K-15, so it needed to be sleek, and I think that stated range of Prahaar is much lower than its actual range. Its actual range would be close to that of K-15.

Since we have got admission into MTCR and need not downplay our capabilities for diplomatic concerns, we may see longer range test of Prahaar in coming days.

It's a derivative of AAD interceptor, not K15.

.
Indian inclusion in MTCR is going to start making noises around asia pacific soon.

Proposed sale of Arrow theatre missile defence interceptor from Israel as part of Indian attempt to develop indigenous “Ballistic Missile Defence”. The transfer of both the missiles and technology was subject to US approval owing to its contributions in the development of the interceptor technology of the Arrow system.

,India is forcing PAKISTAN to test something good.
Of course. We are.

.
DRDO just made this derivative of AAD not on any request, or requirement of the army. It seems the army is unsure what to do with this system, so it wasnt trialed for like 4 years.

So this gets us asking, why the restart? Army's interest? Or a push for export, which this government seem to be pushing more. Or combination of both. Either way, they should certify this system.

army found its range less as per there doctroine so now DRDO has come up with new compound/solid fuel which is better and gives longer range and software & hardware is upgraded for better accurecy and possibally "top /90degree attack capability"

150km range for a tactical ballistic missile system for the artillery forces is more than enough.

. .
Pragati would be one of the most popular BM on marker due to its depressed trajectory characteristics.

Also this missile (and prahar) could also be coverted into SLBM with ease (MTCR restriction are only regarding range and speed) as they are derived from K-15. (Prahaar is practically a land version of K-15 with some reduced range).
You are mistaken, pragati is devoloped directly from AAD missile of indian BMD. Actually its shourya is land based brother for k15.

. . . .
Its Pakistan which is always talking about nasr and nukes not India. We have higher priority.

Almost every news from your side somehow carries the name Nasr. Its our missile so ofcourse we would time and again mention it where required but the way India has given Nasr so much of importance, shows it had worried people out there.
