yes, Indian made vaccine seems to be more protective to all variants of covid till now. The antibody generated have been shown to neutralise the virus. As opposite to that, some reports of Indian variant causing death in some elderly comorbid patient have reported who had completed vaccination with AZ vaccine. Most of the cases have been reported from states of Andhra-telengana. Mumbai and Delhi seems to be not affected by this sub variant of Indian variant

India should have never built its vaccine manufacturing or API industry and seen immense Pak Govt brilliance of being dependent on a nation with risky ties for its pharma needs

I doubt that. Not possible. Furthermore each vaccine has its own process and tech. So the total capacity of e billion can be converted for covid manufacturing also seems false.

China and russia can do that. One of the benefits of socialist economy.

Unlike private companies they can sell medicine even at loss. Like in case wuhan they constructed a 1000 bed hospital in just couple of weeks.

On the contrary for economy like us it is impossible.

Even in case of Pakistan if our capacity is 50 million doses we cant shift all of them to covid as the investment required will only be approved if it has returns.

China can transfer its work force from other industries to medical for this one year but on the contrary can india do that ? Why would another private firm will transfer its staff to another private firm ?

Last year India made 60,000 ventilators in one year alone.

They were distributed to city hospitals to every district hospital around India. But many of them also are lying unused as there aren't many trained man power to use them.

Investigation: In Bihar, district hospitals have ventilators, but no staff to operate them

The state has better equipment to tackle the second wave of Covid-19 but it is proving to be of little use.

India does have laws where vaccine patents can be ignored under exigent circumstances, though may not invoke the act anytime soon

According to industry data India had eight ventilator manufacturers with an yearly capacity to supply 3,360 ventilators before the pandemic. During the Covid crisis, nine more players entered the field and it raised India’s manufacturing capacity to 396,260 annually.

396,260/365 = 1085.6
So yes the above claim that India is manufacturing 1000 ventilators in a day is wrong

You do not understand, having the world's biggest Pharma industry did not save hundreds of thousands of Indians dying. It was the government strategy. Per head around 5 times as many Indians dying as Pakistan per million population . Modi claimed to have defeated Covid a few months ago, then you had massive Hinud festivals and election rallies. In Pak they have ordered restictions almost constantly.

That was wisdom, having a pharma industry does not stop you being stupid unfortunately for India....
