India to name and shame rapists on official websites, govt says

wtf was expecting a hell lot . increasing no of pcrs, increasing night duties of policeman ,involving students union, increasing woman police, increasing the punishment of rarest of rare cases to death penalty, making harassment law non bailable offence ,increasing fast track courts. and wat we get is a fkin website shaming scheme .dumbass govt.

lol wht an idiotic move.......:Don website? lol & how many indians hav access to internet? hardly 10%.......

Less than 10 % of united Indian population wanted the creation of Pak, that happened right !!

Posting pic and names is fine but posting address seems to be a mess as it may result many angry people to march towards their home and may do some damage to their families ....and who knows their family may not know about what they did and are innocent and get un-necessary damage by mobs without it being their fault ...

Very logical point. The address part needs to be done away with.

They do it in USA too. Its a public record the address is shown to aware the people of potential danger.

Here is a public record of a sex offender.

Primitive and stupid move. Will create problems for innocent family members and can dent the fabric of society.

but thats US and its india both are of different breed and have different ways of reacting to certain things ... isn't it obvious after so many years that people of this part lack tolerance

This will not stop these rapists in fact most probably in revenge when ever they get released will rape more girls put them to death in public and make they get this punishment by they hands of the victim or at least she chooses the way to their death you will see how much crime will get reduced in India at least rape

While the victim girl is moved to Singapore for treatment; the culprits need to be moved to Saudi on SOS basis for execution. I am quite sure justice will be done in desired way without much hoollah-trials-arguments-counter arguments-evidences-point of view etc.

There was a report that a good percentage of rape accused persons had been allowed to contest elections so will Govt of India also post their pics/ portfolios and data

Govt is spineless and dictated with small bunch of crooks. They won't do. But I see through this boiling incident now, is the young generation is seen pretty active and aware of surroundings. Such painful incidents do happen around but the one in question - hopefully should be a game changer in social environment. If the fervour and spirit continues, if the younger generation - especially from middle and above class take part in election process, voting, be part of politics then we can witness better political fabric. It will take time. But still hopeful.

There is a difference b/w ACCUSED & a CONVICT.

Now you are an expert in criminology too.All around the world among criminology experts, there is an overwhelming consensus that the death penalty never has been, is not and never could be a deterrent to violent crimes. The death penalty has absolutely nothing to do with crime rates..Your argument is full of hot air.
