For make in India, India will have to get U.S on board as well I think (Raytheon and NG subcontracting + US funding of system). But I am not sure.

I heard your experience with Russian systems/platforms is not that good.

Because if they are frigates, then they will be an improved versions of what we are already operating , plus the biggest advantage.... Russia doesn't get behind us telling what to do or what not to do with the systems sold, quite unlike west.

Yes , but if US doesn't agree, we still can get them.... but more like a hook or crook. We can get Radar, electronics etc step by step, not importing the full system all at once.

u should ask, why don't the US approve an Israeli Indian deal for david sling, since much of the funding and part of the technology (raytheon contractor) is american.
Besides, David Sling is still in development and according to Rafael which is the prime contractor, the development of this missile is gonna change fundamentally their future missile designs.

That will take more time then. I don't think the US will be that against it in the first place since there is already supposedly negotiations with US for THAAD technology. Lets see how 2016 goes.

We dont need a strong navy, our coast line isnt as big as India's. If a naval war breaks out, India can only despatch a segment of their Navy, our fleets will be able to hold em off, with aerial and ground support.
