I'm NOT a big supporter of Modi but have brains enough to understand that there is no fundamental differences between India and US and most western countries. All have accepted capitalism as economic model, all have decided democracy will be political system to follow. We don't have any territorial issues with them and their companies have done very well for us. China is the only headache all of us have. And no, it's not your self pitying argument of world trying to screw china, it is just simply that your establishment is lame. You claim you want to do 'global leadership' What have you actually succeeded in? BRICS Bank etc.- failed in the 1st 2 years, Bretton woods stands 75 years after it was set up. No one stands by you for anything, no one looks up to you for leadership in anything. But that doesn't stop you from abusing every other country in your newspapers. Pakistan did mot and does not need to sign LEMOA. They have dictatorships that bypass the concept of laws and legality. Under those lovely conditions, Pakistan signed foundational agreements that render signing of LEMOA moot.
Thus they rent out entire military bases to be operated by Americans on their own with unrestricted access to Pakistani airspace.

We unfortunatly cannot do that. Thus we must formalize legal treaties, create structures for logistics exchange. And increase military deployment capability should the need arise.

You gave away a part of a country to US's Democracy (Taiwan) and coming here and talking about sovereignty.

Three generations of chinese sacrificed their sweat for American MNCs in worst possible way some in prision camps and you talk about your sovereignty.

You city Hongkong was under British rule, instead of fighting them you waited till they give it to you and you talk about sovereignty.

Sovereignty and signing LEMOA are completely different things.

US doesn't benefit as much from LEMOA. They have bases all over the Indian Ocean. What's more important is India gets access to American bases all over the Pacific, not to mention other parts of the world.
