India to be fastest-growing economy globally in both 2022 and 2023: IMF

Thanks for the support including of Joe by always. On the forum I am always attacked by Muslim right-wingers and Hindu right-wingers and Indian nationalists who all don't get the fact that the human right to a dignified life and harmonious society is supreme.

Success is not a free lunch, An athlete has to sweat for the training, a soldier has to bleed to win wars,
similarly sheer success comes at the cost of high pressure and the ones who are stronger creates the new & improved world. Survival of the fittest is still true

There are enough opportunities in India, Nothing is impossible if one puts his head down work 15 hrs a day, literally nothing,

Efficiency of a any random person in a demography varies wildly, so your statement of achieving the impossible by working 15 hours a day is blatantly wrong. And if you keep forcing a person to achieve 'the standard' the society sets for him to be successful, sooner or later he will end up with depression, and in some cases, will end up taking his own life.

I agree with Skull and Bones and I must ask Babaho, what is this great goal that most of India is going towards that necessitates crushing humans under a bulldozer ? Seventy five years of India yet we live in a society where many human lives are worth less than a dog, where a few live in mansions while others live in slums or pipes ( 40+ percent of Bombay lives in slums despite Bombay being called a megacity ). What great technological, political and socio-economic contribution has India made to the world in 75 years ? Not just my words but NR Narayana Murthy's too in 2015 :
There has always been a debate over the contribution of Indian scientific institutes over the years. Many people have questioned their original contribution to the field. The latest person to have questioned this trend is Infosys founder N R Narayana Murthy. IT czar has said that there has not been a single invention from India in the last 60 years that became a household name globally, nor any idea that led to "earth shaking" invention to "delight global citizens".

"Our youngsters have not done much impactful research work despite being equal to their counterparts in intellect and energy in Western universities," he said delivering the convocation address at the Indian Institute of Science here.

Listing out 10 major inventions that Massachusets Institute of Technology has created in the last 50 years that includes Global Positioning System, Bionic Prostheses and Microchip, Murthy said these happened because students and faculty at MIT "walked the untrodden path, asked the unasked questions and used their intellectual prowess to take huge leaps".

"They demonstrated unusual courage to achieve the plausibly-impossible. The story is similar at many other western institutions of higher education," he said.

He said almost all inventions such as cars, the electric bulb, radio, television, computers, Internet, wifi, MRI, laser, robots and many other gadgets and technology happened, "thanks to the research by Western Universities".

He added: "On the other hand, let us pause and ask what the contributions of Indian institutions of higher learning, particularly IISc ans IITs, have been over the last sixty-plus years to make our society and the world a better place?

"Is there one invention from India that has become a household name in the globe? Is there one technology that has transformed the productivity of global corporations? Is there one idea that has lead to an earth shaking invention to delight global citizens?"

Co-founder of the country's major IT firm Infosys said: "Folks, the reality is that there is no such contribution from India in the last 60. The only two ideas that have transformed the productivity of global corporations -- The Global Delivery Model and the 24-hours workday -- came from the company called Infosys."

Pointing to the problems plaguing the country such as illiteracy, child malnutrition, poor public health service, Murthy said, "I can go on and on. The important thing is to recognise that this country has no shortage of problems to be solved urgently."

He said there must be free flow of ideas between our intellectuals and foreign scholars. "Our younger faculty must have full freedom to pursue their line of research without hindrance."
Most Indians do not walk the uncharted path or the radical-change path or are not early adopters and this I had an experience at a prominent industry level when I had a phone conversation some years ago with the vice-president of the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association.

There was a wonderfully enlightening ad on NDTV India created by the Delhi AAP government to promote its entrepreneur program for school students. A young school chap is told by his father in the morning to study hard because he has to "Acchi si naukri karna" and he nods his head and that boy grows up to tell his own son to "Acchi si naukri karna" and the son reluctantly and sadly nods his head and gets told that ridiculous thing by his neighbors and others along the way to school and in the school too he gets told that by the authorities but when he gets onto the stage where the Delhi deputy CM is set to arrive he gets told that by another teacher to "Acchi si naukri karna" but the DyCM arrives just then and says that if everyone starts to do "Acchi si naukri" who will employ others then ? India is a land of "hard working" wage slaves mostly but they don't realize that it takes many more times hard work to make true political, socio-economic and technological contribution. The "Acchi si naukri" doers get off easy because they don't have to think and because they don't think they either participate or sit on the fence while the country has gone to the dogs. Think about this : India has a population of 1.4 billion so logically there is a potential contributory workforce of one billion but how many of that one billion actually contribute ? No, Ambani and Infosys are non-contributors. Going by the massive or big number of computer engineers, materials scientists, rocket scientists, metal factories, electrical engineers, chemical engineers etc India should have had a Mars base at least 10 years ago but is that the case ? In India every stream of education has a college degree, including social work and despite social work having a college degree, despite economics having a college degree India is still socio-economically in 1000 BC.

I am walking the talk. I could have abandoned my computing projects which I have been doing for years, and taken up a "job" and lived a life a bit more socio-economically comfortable though the jobbing people too are in middle class poverty.

Radical change in the Indian political, socio-economic and public transportation spheres can be immediate if you speak to others you know online and offline of these very simple ideas. They are others' ideas plus added with mine and have been applied elsewhere so there is no reason for their not coming of use to india :

While its true we jumped to services directly but through PLI schemes, industrialisation is being promoted here.
I realise what you are trying to convey, but this is misleading. This may not be the place for a discussion on the cross-section of Indian industrial development, so let it pass. We need to discuss this somewhere else, someplace else.

I’m in no way a proponent of socialism, in fact coming from West Bengal, I consider these commies as scum by default. :D
Oh please. There is a WORLD of difference between socialism and communism. For a person 'from West Bengal', this is naive.

One respect in which we differ, sadly, from the mainland Chinese is in their focus and dedication to work. Their productivity is phenomenal, and the output of their shipyards and aircraft factories (to pick out two of special interest) is mind-numbing. We really need to pull up our socks.

@satyamev

I don't agree with @jamahir, but his heart's in the right place (dunno about his head!:partay:). You need to cut him some slack.

I dont have the score card for last 75 years but things are moving in the right direction form last decade
Nothing was there till 90s, after markets open first thing that happened was IT revolution (2003 onwards) then we had ecommerce revolution (2010 onwards) and now startup revolution (2015 onwards)

IT, Tech, Ed Tech, Fin-tech, Crypto have potential to build global brands (Ed tech is almost there)

You se the massive real estate build up in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, some one is buying those flats - Bottom line is increase in Demand

You see the demand for cars (as of today 3L+ cars are in waiting), even the used car market is going up - Bottom line is increase in demand

You see orders in Ecommerce, purchase of gold, smart phone sales, every thing is going up at a very high pace - Again Increase in Demand

If demand is going up, people are able to afford then something is moving and moving in right direction
I agree with you that a large segment is under privileged but the small door to better life is expanding

These demographic change do not happen overnight , it takes decades for transformation at this scale,

Well summarised, transformation in Indian cities is very well visible, what’s necessary is innovative ways to increase rural employment and improve rural economy.

I wish you'd stick with that theme and write more. People need to know more about us. It is always salutary to watch people from elsewhere reacting to the mind-numbing complexity that is India. Even Pakistanis will have that shocked reaction when they do get to travel and come and see us; food, for instance. I watch food blogs a lot, and I was smiling at this one single aspect that sums up India so well.

Please write about rural India.

Many indians should stop being bhakts of Dear Leader Modi and realize that not only has he not remedied the historic political, socio-economic and technological problems in India he has also added to them. We have a prime minister who does not go a few kilometers from his official residence in Delhi to meet protesting farmers and does not have a single word regret when 700 of those protesting farmers died of various causes by the time the unified protest was called off. But the primary cause of those 700 deaths was that the Modi administration refused to listen to the demands of the farmers. In the 2008 Bombay attack 166 Indians died and the one attacker taken alive was punished by Indian courts. Now who should be punished for the deaths of the 700 Indian farmers in the Delhi protests many more times the number of Bombay death toll ?

Dear Leader blatantly showed his shamelessness again when he visited places in Uttar Pradesh to speak in support of that criminal Yogi's election candidature but Dear Leader did not visit Lakhimpur Kheri in the same UP state. Lakhimpur Kheri is where the son of one of his government's deputy home ministers crushed to death and to injury some farmers and a journalist. Are those dead and injured people of Lakhimpur not Indians, more importantly not humans ? Is Dear Leader the prime minister of all Indians or just of all Hindutvadis ? Where went his much vaunted slogan "Sabka saath, sabka vishwaas, sabka vikaas" ( To the support of all, with the support of all, for the development of all ) ? Just another jumla lie like many others of his ?

And he is busily getting a new PM palace for himself that costs millions of dollars and constructing religion-linked statues and structures while Indians are dying or suiciding because of socio-economic reasons :

Is this the saath, vishwaas and vikaas he promised ?

You write about the popularity of "FinTech" in India. I agree that until the point that money disappears from human society money exchange should be digital but the base socio-economic system should be a progressive one. "FinTech" is a useless thing unless India gets rid of its 3000-year-old extremely Capitalist socio-economic system. There is no rational reason for such a socio-economic system to continue. And related to this is this new fashion of crypto-shipto.

You speak of real estate development in India. Well, putting up ugly highrises and 50-storey skyscrapers is not development but anti-development and anti-harmony.

I put the fault with India(ns). Because the representative media is deceptively focused on Bollywood which is a NORTH INDIAN phenomenon.
The people, language and food that bollywood represents about 55% of India at best.

The same way Bollywood assumes 1950’s Lucknow is Pakistan and so most Indians still cannot fathom the complexity of Pakistanis too.

.
That apart, he is being positively hostile, in every way, on every occasion. What is this?
I went through the trouble of digging this out for you. Read the conversation to understand this oddity. Some people are clueless

Lol its true, even our movies have Lucknowi accent of Urdu to define Pakistanis instead of the usual Punjabi accents you guys have. Only now films have started showing Pakistanis as mostly Punjabi-accent Urdu speaking compared to the Muslim version of Uttar Pradesh earlier portrayed.

Again - what is usual?
That usual Punjabi accent is your perception when the accent varies from North to south Punjab, to sindh, to KP and Karachi has its own multiple accents.

Hence, you have NO idea who Pakistanis are
I know who Indians are to an extent because I have studied, lived and worked with them along with having friends and relatives in India to provide first hand accounts of their day to day. That is something many Pakistanis don’t get to see either nor the things available to an Indian in their daily services lives.
