i think India will go for the Apache whenever they re-tender - they are now "lured" by the US civilian-military complex - they cannot avoid it! -

fatman sir has point. The actual dealy and all was happened because Boeing was not quoting sighting insufficient time to prepare a response

Attack Helicopters are more or less anti tank weapons, and yes they can be used against Terrorists. Since 9/11, for some reasons the terrorist (or other words that you can use) do not use anti aircraft missiles simply as no one seems to be selling them. During Soviet-Afghan conflict, the afghans shot down Soviet Gunships with Stingers, but now the stingers are outdated and frankly not available. Anti Tank weapons etc are available en masse from Conflict areas like Africa. So in case of aerial superiority , Attack helicopters can be used for most roles.
