the same can be said for japan and south korea. face it, everything "modern" such like cars, computers, cell phones, tv's, you name it, originate from western inventions. you may want to redefine "unique".

Japan is in a different league. They have too may innovations that changed tech culture throughout decades,although they followed western technology.Taiwan or South Korea cannot be compared to japan.

Unique is -one creates ,others follow.Example Transistor.Japan used transistors to miniaturize their products.
