India summons Pak envoy over Kartarpur photoshoot

Pakistan should expel all Indian diplomats and order to shut all Indian embassies/consulates in Pakistan.

. .
Pakistan provided this opportunity in a plate.

Must immediately apologize to Sikh community before India play politics again and "demand" apology and then claim victory and savior of Sikhs.

Punjab CM Usman Buzdar took note of the outrage and sought a report from the chief secretary in this regard

The photographs sparked controversy since it is required for all visitors to keep their heads covered during a visit to any Gurdwara.
NEW DELHI: India on Tuesday summoned Pakistan's second senior-most diplomat in the country to convey "deep concern" over the incident in Kartarpur Sahib involving a Pakistani model and a clothing brand.

The official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Arindam Bagchi, said in a statement that India conveyed to Pakistan's Charge d'Affaires that "this reprehensible incident has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community in India" and worldwide, reported international media.

"Such continued incidents of desecration and disrespect of places of religious worship of the minority communities in Pakistan highlight the lack of respect for the faith of these communities," the MEA's statement went on to say.

The photographs sparked controversy since it is required for all visitors to keep their heads covered during a visit to any Gurdwara. The clothing brand responded by deleting the pictures from its social media handles.

Punjab CM Usman Buzdar took note of the outrage and sought a report from the chief secretary in this regard. In a statement, Buzdar said that a thorough inquiry will be conducted into the matter. He further reiterated that “all religions are respected” in Pakistan.

But that was not same India who did Sikh Genocide in 1984????
Pakistan should now summon India over 1984 sikh genocide and golden temple demolition.

They have statues of the worst type of sexual perversion in Hindu temples and they are worried about a very modestly dressed women outside of a Sikh temple. Until recently the place, where the shoot took place, were fields in which lot more was going on other then photo shoots. Who made this area holy, Pakistan government and the Pakistani Sikh community. Indian think they will score some brownie points with the Sikhs with such charades. Sikhs are much smarter. Indians are simply reacting to Pakistan news, where there was a genuine concern about what happened. Says a lot about their state craft.

I for once find myself agreeing with India.. I think India is in the right here and if they feel some of their minority religious sites is somehow harmed than they have the right to be upset or express their feelings. There is freedom of religion in Pakistan meaning every group or entity has to be respected within our laws and including holy sites..

In ISLAMIC law it is haram and forbidden to harm any holy sites for other religions and a place that is to be protected by the state and preserve it's integrity

Pakistan should reach out to the Sikh organizations it is working with (to take care of this religious site) from around the world to convey their regret over the incident, and to set a precedent that matters regarding the running of the Kartarpur corridor will be conveyed to those organizations as representatives of the Sikh peoples. Pakistan can also formally publish a public statement should anything happen again regarding this site.

This. They should give a small written public release

Was Justing amended my post to say the same. But a communication with the Sikh organizations Pakistan is working with can help to find ways to prevent such incidents from happening again. (And convey that Sikhs have some agency over a Sikh religious site, inside Punjab, outside of Indian control)

Hold on! Why is our Pakistani state asked to do something when it was not responsible for this . A young girl who accidentally did a photo shoot has apologised. Wasn’t the Pakistani state who the shoot was for. apologise has been done that’s enough.

I think such channels due exist already as the Sikh community have roots in both East and West Punjab but more working channels is needed to prevent such minor occurances

I have seen the apology it was quite noble and the way she has written that was quite acceptable and sincere

Pakistan has way bigger religious intolerance it needs to fix. Sikhs have generally been safe and been left alone culture in Pakistan. This is not some sort of BLM moment for them.

The government is managing the site, I’d assume.
