According to National Crime Records Bureau, there are 2.81 murders / 100,000 ppl every year. Simple math puts it to 100 murders every day based on a population of 1.3 billion.

And this is the number of ppl "murdered" not "killed". Killed - would include killed in accidents as well and hence the actual number of ppl killed will be much much higher.
