India seeks transit from Pakistan to supply wheat to Afghanistan

Lots of people wrote chest thumping argument about recent border skirmishes between Pakistan and India and told ya guys its all Nawaz-Moodi toppi drama. Both are diverting public attention from " something".

No need to allow this. They are free to go through Iran.
Damn straight they are .....

anything for our afghan brothers ....

Go through Chahbahar.
soon inshaallah , this way pakistan is excluded from regional transit ....

since iran is a million times safer place with a much more strategic position ..... any country can be linked to EU , ME , north africa and north asia through iran .. ...

so .... yeah :D

Is there any rail link or good road link connected to Afganistan? and the roads that pass to kabul from Iran are they well guarded, is there any Talibani controlled provinces in between before shipment reached Kabul or Kandhar?

What could be the possible route to Afghanistan via Iran ,if chahbar is still under U/C?

WPS - Port of Shahid Rajaee review

then they can be connected to the national rail road network and make their way up to northeast - thats where afghanistan is located

"Khali wali" kuch na hona baba...

Pakistan would say "NO" = Go to hell everybody..

For such highly subsidized commodity; transit fee to be directly proportional to the subsidized amount.

This difference of Rs 500 per tonne is bound to tilt the competitive edge in favour of the Indian wheat and Pakistan would lose its traditional market that consumes over half a million tonne of flour from Pakistan, the Dawn said.

A total market $15 million or so only? What's the big deal here? A difference of about $2.5 million?

What is this, India always, Gib Gib Gib
Yet no one is ready to give them :what:

Case1
Pakistan agrees to give transit
India earns ,Pakistan gets transit tax,Afghanistan gets wheat

Case2
Pakistan says no.... India uses chahbahar
India earns,Afghanistan gets wheat, Pakistan gets babaji ka thullu

Ur choice

A typical one day journey on a truck from Lahore border to Peshawar.....or sea journey and then more days on land....which will be cheaper? It's not really that hard to figure out. In absence of Pakistani routes, Iran is good, but not when Pakistan comes into Picture.

USA/NATO tried, and realized, Pakistan is the cheapest and easiest route into Afghanistan. (despite having airbases/port berthing rights in Central Asia)

If GoI wants,Indian wheat would still be cheaper.

India produces more wheat then it could consume and surplus is thrown away. Govt could sell wheat to Afghanistan at Zero profit and it would not harm bottomline of GoI.
