May be but what good is 120 billion PLA budget when large no of chinese territory illegally occupied by every neighbor country.

After the failure of Rustom i & ii India is quite desperate to have UCAV specially Pakistan active Buraq UCAV strikes send chill to thier back bones, first they beg Israel to have armed drone now they are asking from USA.

That's your area of specialisation we pay our hard earn for this kind of equipments....

BTW FYI comparing Buraq with Predator avenger is like comparing MIG 19 with Su 30....
Buraq can carry anything between 90-180 kg of payload and on the other predator can carry 1400 Kg of payload....

This is just a stupid article. Todays armed drones are practically useless against an adversary with a credible air defense, land or air based.

There is a reason we have not pushed this aggressively. The application is limited, given India's stand of not using air assets for armed action on our own land. Surveillance drones have more utility, particularly naval ones.

like an RC plane, Burraq and rustom are controlled through radio towers..... for longer range, a communication satellite is needed if its a geo stationary.. .or a group of satellites... US control ts drones from bases in US thus through satellite communication... same w;d be needed for india to conrol, lets say at west side of Pakistan....

How hard would it be for us to make one if it does not exist already. If we can make a system that can communicate with our satellite in Mars. This is just a candy cake.

Lets buy one, send it over pakistans afghan border to help afghans and enjoy the show. With no flags on drone pakistan will be in a bind to shoot or not.

They are not fools but if they mistakenly hit US planes then they will pay for it. If your drone is shot down you can obviously deny it and act as if nothing happened. Let them shout and dance who cares.

I am not a defense expert but some mysterious creature tells me that before a drone can make a flight in an area it needs to seek permission for a free air corridor.......................... but who knows may be these machines can take off make a trip and land and nobody would know anything about it right?
