India cannot take Pak Kashmir which is nearly 40% of whole Jammu and Kashmir because this will be too costly for India.


The same case is with Pakistan as it cannot take IOK by force. The best possible solution is to make Kashmir valley either independent or it should merge with Pak. It’s a heavily populated muslim area where the sentiment against Indian union is very strong even after 68 years. India can keep Jammu and laddagh and Pak should not demand these areas as they are NOT muslim majority areas.


In this scenario, Pak will get a small part (hardly 8000 sq. miles) of Kashmir (in case Valley merge with Pak) which is muslim poplulated area and India will still keep a big part of Jammu and laddagh.

Well thats been history, after kargil war, this became very clear that large scale movement get hampered due to bottlenecks in road transports, hence a second route from jammu to srinagar was carved out and also the rail transport system has been pushed to priorty. Along with it new airport for Srinagar also got clearance. Similarly heavy airlifters where purchased in due course. Thus by 2016 it should be much of issue when both the second road route and railway route should openup.
