India says Myanmar has no nukes
India says Myanmar has no nukes - Hindustan Times

India believes that neighbouring Myanmar has no nuclear programme but is monitoring developments closely as nuclear weapons in the neighbourhood were a matter of concern, External Affairs Minister SM Krishna said on Thursday. "Myanamar asserts that it has no nuclear programme on its anvil. The
government of India will have to believe," Krishna said while replying to a supplementary in the Rajya Sabha, parliament's upper house.

The minister, however, added that information was being gathered through intelligence networks as well.

"We will also gather through our own intelligence what is happening. The government always monitors development closely because it concerns our security," Krishna said.

Yup. Burma has no nukes.

.
:what: Why India is speaking on behalf of Burma? Is India official spokesperson of Burma or there is something fishy where as they say in Urdu kuch apnoon ka naam bhee ata ha iss fasanay main

Thand rakh, Jana biba. The foreign minister was only replying to a query in the Indian parliament. Whats wrong with stating the official govt. position in our own parliament? Its not like India was shouting about it in the UN.

I know indian fellows will have some problems with my querry....
but india got nukes herself and all other neighbourhood countires of india are concerned about security of Indian nukes...lots of incidents have been reported about indian nukes which are of concerned....

if india have nukes then all other neighbourhood countires have right to have nukes to defend.....:pdf:

.
Why will a country like Myanmar need nukes,i mean they don't have any bitter nuke-armed enemies.:undecided:

Valid question. US and Russia had nuclear 'accidents' as well. So does that mean no other country should have nukes?

The question still is why an Indian MP raised question about Burma's nukes and why Indian FM has to say in clear words "Burma has NO nukes"

I mean what relevance India has with regards to Burmese nuclear program?

Can you explain a bit so that i can understand in which context the Indian Members Parliament are raising the question officially

Who cares if Burma needs it or not BUT US, India, China, BD relevance in the strategic proxies make the concerned players to arm Burma with nukes to counter their rivals

yes we do have concerns about nuclear accidents in india coz we live nearby

But the main question is why india is concerned about burma nukes and how its indian security issue?
indians got nukes and its burma security concern too... i hope you got my point if you try to think with open mind which is highly unlikely thing...

Yeah, as far as I know, they don't have any serious enemies and are just a small country to be used as a battleground (i.e. another vietnam/afghanistan incident)

Which lots of incidents have been reported about Indian nukes which are of concern?? which neighbouring countries of India are concerned about security of Indian nukes?? If you have to $hit on this forum do so by all means but why subject us to your *****?

If you have to troll, do so in a more intelligent manner.

None of the players will allow it as it will lead to a chain reaction,i.e their neighours will go nuclear, say Thailand(spread to South-east) or Bangladesh which certainly isn't in the interests of India nor China or USA.

Also like i mentioned in the previous post, their relevance in the strategic proxies is a bit hyped as Myanmar has no bitter enemies or rivals.

He has actually raised a point. When a country has a nuclear monopoly over its area, its neighbors feel threatened. Hence the pakistani nuclear program long ago (and USA tried to stop it, even though we aren't exactly neighbors). Of course, it wouldn't be right to say that India has a nuclear monopoly; both pak and china have nukes too. Why are you so worked up when he said that there may be a security threat? You people always say it on our forum regarding pak...
