This is not only pakistans complain but also of other small south asian countries. The indians heavily favour export while like to artifically limit import.

basis ? plz dont type some fantasies of ur mind !! we dont have a trade balance if u understand by that... Our imports are greater than Exports not just by 5 or 10 billion but more than $100 billion !! now judge how India "heavily" favors exports ?

This is not true at all, India have not put up any trade barriers. As for trucks pakistan can handle more trucks as we don't smuggle anything to pakistan but we have to thoroughly search and check trucks from pakistan for security reasons and to stop fake currency smuggling.

The proof that India don't have any barriers is the following news that India imports 7,22,967 Metric ton of cement from pakistan.

"According to All-Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association figures, while cement import stood at 11,316 MT in September 2007, when it first began, it shot up to 89,432 MT in May 2010. From July 2008 to June 2009, cement export to India was 6,34,456 MT while in the corresponding period in 2009-10 it rose to 7,22,967 MT."

If there are barriers how pakistan is exporting its cement to India?????????

And mind it that our own cement industry is facing loss as we are importing Pakistani cement because its cheaper.

Cement : Sector structure/Market size

India is the world's second largest producer of cement with total capacity of 224 million tonnes (MT) as on April 30, 2010, according to the Cement Manufacturer's Association.

I believe that the Indian Annual Production is about 180 Million Tonnes.

It also says

In January 2010, rating agency Fitch predicted that the country will add about 50 million tonnes cement capacity in 2010, taking the total to around 300 million tonnes.

As such do you think that India will be an Importer of Cement (from any origin) in the long term?

it is time pakistan shunned all its apprehensions and proposed a FTA or a CEPA to india something we in india are doing with well over 32 countries/groupings of countries and there every thing will be sorted out amicably keeping the interests of the two signatories with all the details on the papers and no chance of anyone taking the other for a ride but will pakistan do it and in case india was to propose one, will pakistan respond? lets have a fair play but then pakistan's insistence on kashmir first and every thing afterwards wont help as was seen in the recent indo-pak foreign ministry level talks and if we are to continue with the stalemate then no point complaining. as far as tribune.pk is concerned, it has always been a india bashing site, so what difference does it make on what they have to say.
