India’s secret base for N-subs underway

Then I expect people not to make comments on how India's first submarine to be quieter than China's which has worked decades on it.
I Agree.......:)

More room and more powerful propulsion allows far more quieting additions like multiple layers of Anechoic tiles.

More powerful propulsion means you can power a larger propeller with more blades at a slower RPM to generate less noise.

Deeper diving capabilities as well.

etc.....
Nope, the addition of materials which weigh less then their counterparts will solve the problem.[E.g:-Use of CFC's instead of Aviation grade steel,titanium.......etc in A/C's]
Also the motor in the subs have much greater efficiency than you/me think. So these motors might provide more torque than the bigger ones on older-subs.About the propeller blades, the blades are designed differently such that they provide max power transfer from the motors. So more propeller blades does not necessarily mean greater noise reduction.Deeper diving capabilities, this also depends upon many things like hull structure, materials used to build the sub...............etc so again greater tonnage does not imply greater stealth and greater diving depth.I am basing my arguments on my knowledge about A/C's so I might or might not be right.:)

Anechoic tiles are rubber or synthetic polymer tiles containing thousands of tiny voids. No metals involved. As for your argument on lighter materials they would also be less dense. Something you do not want when trying to decrease sound from the interior of the sub. Larger reactors of the same generation will always produce more energy. As for propellers more blades mean that you can turn the propellers slower with no loss to speed. However this requires engines capable of producing more torque. As for Diving capabilities larger size does matter.

Below are the pictures i have marked in Google Earth after searching through Google about Project Varsha ( Underwater base)

In bleow link i have marked a place after searching through Wiki map where i could find the 5000 acres land that was acquired by IN for building this base and this place is authentic bcoz i knw there was huge agitation by village ppl wen the NAVY acquired....U could find this news in Google....

I think that density increases the speed of sound. The tiles that you spoke about, aren't there any ways to reduce the weight?I believe that it can be achieved without losing out on it's characteristic features[But,I do not know how!].The propeller blades can be designed in such a way that that they do not have many low pressure areas which generate bubbles which are a cause for noise[Courtesy-NatGeo and their documentary about the Virginia class subs]The top speed does not matter much as these Subs do not have significant differences in their top whacks. The diving capabilities might be more for bigger subs but this does not mean that they have superior stealth.right? The only reason I see as to why bigger subs are preferred might be due to their better payload(fuel and weapons)......:)

So that is our secret base ?

Hardly 4 migs as of now in the Indian navy's modern Air arsenal, It cannot be called Deterrence

well currently it stands at 4 Mig29k and 4 Mig29KUB
which wll rise to 45 Mig29k/kUB by 2014

Guys I have done little research about INS Arihant,

According to my perceptions the indications that are marked in the pics (only with respect to bulge and Missile hatch) in the below to images are wrong.....

arihant-render.jpg

In this image u can see something like Box shape behind the coning tower...I think it is the exterior part of the submarine where missile silos are kept....but it is mistaken as open missile hatch as it looks very small in size due to the resolution of the image....

In this image u can see the length of the exterior part (i.e. the box shaped behind the coning tower) of the submarine where missile silos are kept...

And the box shaped thing behind the conning tower is similar to Jin class submarine of PLA navy....not completely but with the shape...

jin_classedit.jpg

And the lenght of the Box shape thing behind the coning tower can be justified with this image....bcoz the K-15 missile and its Submarine launched canister is considerably small....

And in the below 2 images u can see where Mrs. Kaur was standing on the submarine and was breaking the coconut to the coning tower....

I had done this 3 months back, But after some more research i have found that there are 4 tubes or silos in INS Arihant, in each silo there are 3 K-15 missile. And this configuration is for only first two SSBNs. The follow on SSBN will have 4 K-XX missile with range of 3500km. There is video in Youtube of a DRDO exhibition in which they have shown the interior of the silo, unfortunately i don't remember the link. I will try to find the link and repost it here.

This is truly based on my imagination, this may be wrong.

And i just found a pic showing the interior of the missile silo of INS Arihant which holds upto 3 K-15 missile of 750 km range which can reach upto 1900km with lower payload.

You can say it in a less trolling tone.

You know I don;t know you but I know you are a good person. I am glad to see China rise and become a bigger player....I just want India to be free to terrorism sponsored by Pakistan and secure borders. Hopefully we will work it out and then collaborate on futuristic tech. History has shown when shared knowledge between our civilizations we made tremendous leaps in everything ranging from arts, sciences, education, weapons, etc.

Peace out homie

. .
U got it all wrong P8I will be never entering Chinese air space, thouch it will be there to welcome ur subs once it cross malacca straits, and those so called support will not be there to help it.

WOW!!!I would like to see that in the future when China 's subs crossed the Malacca straits if the indians really able to do that.

Are u kidding me????
