India-Russia Divorce and its impact on Indian defence

.
Pakistan can't get dole from Russians as they have no money themselves.

LOL Ghazwa - e - Hind or I am in panic mode, Rafale OMG.
:rofl::rofl::tdown:

.
Besides the impression that the OP is acting paranoid, the fact is that we are still going to provide significant after market business to Russian friends for a long time and as anybody will tell you, after market biz is lot more profitable. These include:
a) Engines for tanks, fighter planes, navy vessels, cruise missiles, air defense equipment etc.
b) Other spares for such equipment.
c) Super Sukhoi upgrade, most likely will be as big as the current rafale order.

I am not counting any new equipment orders (submarines, air defence missiles, etc)

So Russians are going nowhere. No other market has the capability to replace India as a customer for Russian arms industry for at least a few more decades (neither Iran nor Pakistan).

.
World is all not so black and white is it ?

The recent shift and inclination towards west will bring its consequences

russian supplied spares for eygpt after camp david accord and defection to the Western camp

Not supplying spares would be a breach of contract. India could reverse engineer production of some components with American help. it is not the end of the world.

I havent seen indians actually doing it, while Russia has delayed in supplying critical spares.

LOL why would America lose market by giving you the tech do it yourself ? They would gladly fill in the void

@wiseone2[/QUOTE]

russian delays are linked to more money or shortages or incompetence rather than any political motives
india might not want to give America access to russian equipment

india might not want to give America access to russian equipment
If only you were wise enough to understand the real reason, I wonder how many shortages or incompetence is linked to delaying in supplies and not political moves

What can India offer to US that CIA cant gets its hand on without India's help.

.
it wont be a divorce. it would be a transition of not only having Russia as a major supplier.
a large proportion of their equipment is Russian/soviet and that would balance out to a mixture of European, American and Russian. since russia supplies a large amount to india and has noticed the transition quiet early it has lifted its arms embargo to pakistan as a result but wont expect anything big orders but its a start.

.
India divorces Russia, because now we buy stuff from Americans. We are married to Americans because we buy stuff from them. Israelis are extra marital affair and France is a one night fling.

Bhadrakumar seriously needs to do more gardening, than writing.

There is always something sensitive around there. CIA is hardily omnipotent

Russia (and France) are the only two countries that actually mentioned pakistan by name in their condemnation of the Uri incident. You need to keep up with news, and please stop spewing BS.

The OP is trash.

Read the statement carefully. It says "according to New Delhi".

Also, the carefully guarded statement was from Russia embassy in India and not by a senior official in Russia.

STATEMENT by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia on the terrorist attack in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir

We strongly condemn the terrorist attack against an army base in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri in the early hours of September 18, which killed 17 and injured 30 service personnel. We offer our condolences to the families of the victims and wish a rapid recovery to all those injured.

Regarding the Pathankot Indian air base attack in January 2016, we are very concerned about the terrorist attacks near the Line of Control. We are also concerned about the fact that, according to New Delhi, the army base near Uri was attacked from Pakistani territory.

We believe that this criminal act will be investigated properly, and that its organisers and perpetrators will be held accountable.

We confirm our continued support for the Indian government’s counterterrorism efforts.
