well as far as Pakistan is concerned, the indians know that if (and only if) it were determined that the airbase were being used for nefarious purposes against the Islamic Republic, we could turn the entire base into a pile of melted tarmac and evenly spread out infernos. It would be Pattankot and Kalaikunda all over again for their assets and their crew members. Wouldnt be pretty, i dont think.

the Tajiks are also obligated (out of principle and in line with international laws) to ensure that their country is not used for hostile purposes against the Pakistani peoples' nation, and they are smart enough to know that....it's just too bad that they didn't keep that in mind when Ayni air base was used by the Soviets to support their military occupation of Afghanistan.

a lot of those CAR's have a lot of degenerate communist baggage lingering within them, which is quite unfortunate -actually. . .I can see why these hindustanys are terrified about the eventual post-NATO scenario in Afghanistan; but it's all a great game of chess and time will only tell who has the upper hand in this theatre.

i'm not worried about indian spy flights over our holy skies anytime soon since they do not posses such technology or capability....our skies have never been friendly for indian aircrafts and this has been demonstrated by distinguished gentlemen of the PAF & Army Air Def.

this is unofficial. the base belongs to India and tajikistan with tajikistan as the master of land, russia is officially deploying the planes.

in short- if pakistan ever tries to attack it, they will be going in war with 3 nations at a time.

No reliable source so far (EVEN TOI is not reporting)regardless any such base in case of war would be taken out.Although I assume Tajikistan would not let India use this base for offensive purpose in war ( They are not fools).If i was Indian i would be more worried about small fishing boats escaping the mighty blue water navy.

Why buy.... we can always lease a few from Russians who have kept many in reserve... as the original article says.... leasing is a better option.... get 40 Mig 29SMT on lease use it for 10 years and then base other good fighters like Su 30MKI when we have sufficient strength available at home.

That depends on How much money you have.... If we were a Saudi type country with all that oil revenue... I would yes buy about 100 Su35BM and base them all around China.... but since we are an Indian type economy... It would be better to rent about 40 Mig 29s/Su 27s... for 10 years and base them in selected areas around China.... while wait for the 5th Gen... PAK FA/FA GA buy and makethem in bulk and base them all around china in decent numbers.... for a long term perspective.

Su 35BM is a very good plane but its a heavy fighter.... requires more maintenance, more fuel and is costly to keep.... while MMRCAs would be lighter and economical while operating them.... different roles for different aircraft... we alrady have Su 30MKI for the heavy weight role.... which is quiet similar to Su 35S.
