India refuses to support Sri Lanka against US resolution in UNHRC

China asks SL to protect and promote human rights

In a surprise move, China today asked Sri Lanka to "make efforts to protect and promote human rights", backing calls by India, Britain and other countries at the CHOGM summit in Colombo to address allegations of rights abuses against the country's minority Tamils.
The Irony is amusing but, this must come as a rude shock to Sri Lankans

It's just public criticism but full support behind the scenes and in the UN.

We will always back Sri Lanka.

We gave them weapons to crush those terrorists.

Sri Lanka is extremely important position geopolitically and we won't be abandoning them for India or US.

The Chin are playing some petty games here but they have their back to the wall in their core Han areas with Japan and Korea.

That what China said in 1971 for Pakistan in the Indo-Pak war 1971

And the rest is history ;)

This is not 1971 China under Mao. We were very much closed during that time and unless it affects our interests, we didn't care.

Things have changed and we are more engaged geopolitically.
Sri Lanka is huge for us geopolitically, its in a very strategic position and their port is crucial for us.
Make no mistake, we back Sri Lanka and we will continue to do so.

Under Mao, your nation had atleast the balls to go for the Korean war

After Mao's death, your nation had no guts even to punish Americans for Belgrade embassy bombing or Hainan Island incident

Sri Lanka needs to know its place down under.

China has no capacity to actually help any country at the time of war.

They will just try to use them as needed, most of them it backfires like it is happening in Africa.

Ya You make a Genocide and someone tighten the screw around then you call them Puppet.... you blood suckers

killing a terrorit is not a genocide idiot!

Ya mass Murdering Civilians is called Combat for you??????
what's wrong with you

The civilians are in the north? who the hell voted in the past election if there was a genocide?

Dude a Minority community wouldn't take arms in their hands to fight the Government with no good reason/// You Singalas were both Civilian and Government and Military body was horrible to Tamilians... Use your mind man. Don't start from the beginning which has no end. i never used the history as an excuse, I kindly ask you to read your comments once again.

This airpower is a crazy fellow, he doesnt represent SL. BY the way your take is extremely wrong. SL fought a war with a terrorist out fit that used civilians as a human shield. The ones who supported the terrorists are crying now. This is what is happening.

Pakistan can take care of itself, India is far too weak to destroy Pakistan.

Sri Lanka is too small to defend itself and India trying to destroy Sri Lanka will get a swift and ruthless response by our new leaders.

Any attack on Sri Lanka by the regime in New Delhi will be considered direct interference against Chinese influence.

Under Xi Jinping, we are expanding our influence.

China is no longer just concerned for ourselves but for friends and allies.

Sri Lanka is arguably more vital to our geopolitical influence than anything happening in the SCS.

Sri Lanka needs to know its place down under.

Correction : Make no mistake, we WILL SHOW OUR BACK to Sri Lanka and continue to do so.

The regime in New Delhi is powerless to stop our growing influence in Sri Lanka.
With us protecting the peace loving Sri Lankans, India can only cry about losing influence in South Asia.

We provide Sri Lanka with good & services, access to our markets, direct investment, loans, technology transfer, weapons exports, UNSC veto power and a whole lot more.

Africa is too far away but South Asia is now our backyard and with our growing capabilities, our ability to help our friends and allies in South Asia grows by the day.

India is being isolated by every country in South Asia while our influence keeps growing.

Let's have a proper count. What influence china got to counter India.
Midget Sri Lanka
Down to its knees Pakistan.
Let's see what China got to meet.
USA
Japan
Vietnam
South Korea
Malaysia is getting there
And don't forget us your dearest friend.

Malaysia is not an enemy and neither is South Korea.

Our problems are with Japan, US, Philippines and India. Problems with Vietnam are improving after our premier visited Vietnam last year and had a code of conduct.

Out of them only US can can challenge us and even they couldn't defeat us in the Korean War with a UN.

Japanese military is weak. This is not Japan of the 1930's military power.

India is surrounded by all your neighbours partnering with us.
Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan all partnering with us to counter the bellicose and belligerent behaviour of the Indian dictatorship.

The last time India tried to invade China during Nehru's forward policy, you got royally whipped!
