We already have 2 Scorpenes on sea rials with 2 under construction.

And 1 SSBN operational, other in sea trials & god knows how many underway.

I confess that I don't know much about Indian Naval power (which is why I'm asking) Is the one SSBN that's currently operational similar to a USN Ohio Class SSBN?

Smaller with 4 (INS Arihant, first sub) & 8 (INS Aridhaman & 2 follow on subs) launch tubes. Larger SSBNs will follow later.

At least he is not giving you a year. Such as India will be a Supa Powa in 2012. Or India will be formidable in 2020.Those set dates are more easily pin down. In 5 years is not as easily pin down. These Indians are better at bragging so you need to give them credit for that.
