What many people don't understand that there is a reason for going for Mi-35s and that is it can pick and drop soldiers while providing air support which is needed badly in COIN ops, several times our troops have came under attack and Cobras were sent for support but they can't pick up wounded soldiers and transport helicopter were not able to land there due to intense fighting, so this one role among many will be covered by Mi-35s as they are more protected and well armed.

Can anyone confirm which version it is? Mi-35M version?

Right now as we know its Mi-35. Now when we finally get it it might be Mi-35P. with 'P' standing for Pakistan as there might be Pakistan specific modifications. Russian versions are very confusing. Same version lets say Mi-35M built at different factories will have several different features. Their products not as standardized as Americans.

If you honestly think, that Russia will irk India at the behest of China that too for Pakistan , than it is you who is displaying a complete lack of understanding of International relations as Pakistanis have throughout their history since independence.

I dont know , actually this is something that happened during the RD-93 deal , ordered by China for FC1/JF-17 aircraft in 2005 , Indians registered their concerns to not allow Beijing to export the engines to Pakistan however Russians granted the permission for re-export in 2007 . Didn't listen then . Possibly , its you who are ignorant of the lobbying concept .

Yes , the people commenting on this thread where there was a mere possibility of Mi-35 deal said the same . What did the future bring for them? I was there to see the reaction of the deluded ones back then , I am here to see it now .

then again, it was on behest on china that RD-93 was allowed to re-export, the same russia fears to sell Su-35 to china because they fear china would reverse engineer it. The issue is much more complicated then you see it, When no one would invest in PAK-FA india did. So be rest assured Russia will keep in mind India's concern when it comes to sale of sensitive technology, because no one else would invest for development of technology in russia

Pakistan don't have to, because China have done it for us and India can't match them. Indian members were jumping saying that they gave $ 40 Billion business to Russia and they can't ignore them, China have just killed it by giving them $ 400 Billion in one deal and many more to come.

I am not thrilled of Russia selling to Pakistan, it should offer better than just Mi-35s.

Recently Ukraine, Syria and Iraq via ISIS - Mi24/Mi35 were shot down by anti-aircraft rockets.

Mi -35 have severe limitations .That is why we opt Apache and LCH for future use.But it is still good for decimating TTP.

. Already since USA did the coup in Ukraine,Russia and china have been pushed into a very strange but very strong grouping thanks to US coup.Be not surprised if China decides to jump into the PAK FA and the Mig-41 project. I expect a lot more cooperation b/w china and russia. And should China become a big client for Pak Fa ,if India pulls out. Here I will say,China has exponentially much more leverage than India at this point.

if america can sell weapons to both india and pakistan,and india has no problems with them and still buy expensive weapons from americans why cant russians...russia want money to sustain and develop it nation they are trying to say to india that they are not solely dependant on indian cow....

Your influence is related to how important you are as a customer.
If a vendor believes that they will lose more India business by selling to Pakistan
then they won't sell to Pakistan.
