India provides Afghanistan with 'military aid'

NEW DELHI, Aug 12 (KUNA)-- India announced on Monday that it is providing security assistance to the Afghan forces.

Indian Defense Minister AK Antony told the parliament that India has signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) with Afghanistan on October 4, 2011. He noted that this agreement provides security cooperation between the two countries.

Under the SPA, India has agreed to assist, as mutually determined, in the training, equipping, and capacity building programs for Afghan National Security Forces, he explained. He added that India's assistance to Afghanistan in the defense sector is based upon specific requests from the Government of the latter.

Well, i say excellent development. Afghans deserve to see some peace and stability after having gone through so much. Once this is over- with god's grace-taliban (or any extremist org) may never raise its ugly head in that country ever again.

India has to pay to stay there, Karzai won't even let his father live in A'stan for free. However, as for the refugees i fail to see the link. I believe 50% of the Afghan 'friends' of yours need to be shipped to India on Samjhota express.

As I said, there are more than one ways to help a friend in need. You necessarily dont need to do something that simultaneously helps an enemy

After U.S leaves, indian-backed forces will be smoked into thin air by Taliban/ISI/Pakistani Military under the leadership of Syed Zaid Zaman Hamid.

Will he be directing the assaults from Pakistan or from Pakistani Moon Base, which is expected to be in place by 2014, coinciding with the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan

210 Mi-171 A2s or Mi-17V7s
300 AW-139s
100+ AW-109s
100+ ASS550 Fennecs

Also some used Apache Block-Is from USA with latest upgrades or old AW-129s from EU with upgrades.???

Dear Abdaali, welcome aboard.

In my opinion we have lost Afghanistan to dust in the last 35 years of war. If it has to be salvaged, it has to be started from the 'very basics'.
