Hope, you are not seeking a 3rd WW. Whatever India is planning for its navy during the next deacade is large and impressive. But, this is also meant for replacement of some of its obsolete arsenals.
However, this new program has one very strong point. That is India will build many new war ships in its own shipyards. It means if the Indians can keep the quality of workmanship at par with builders of other countries, the decade after next will see a more production of these ships.
It is preposterous to say that Burma will succumb to Indian pressure. Thhis country is China's only direct outlet to the Bay of Bengal. Bangladesh is quite dependent upon Chinese arms that also include corvettes, patrol crafts and frigates. BD navy has also another program to procure 4 units of submarines, but from sources other than China.
BD military is at least 25 times stronger than what it was before 1971, when the GoP wanted to use it as a bait in a war against India. Our airforce is weak, but after our navy is built we will also strengthen our AF. Surely, BD cannot compete unilaterally against India with a far weaker force, however, if a war starts it will certainly spread to the land, where BD can use its geopolitically important location to fight against India. I do not think, BD will succumb to Indian onslaught so easily.
India cannot just go and try to take over BD and Burma unless there is a 3rd WW. Rather, it may start the 3rd WW. Whichever political Party is in power in BD, it will have to side with China. A civilian govt that goes against this will certainly be deposed by the military, and die-hard supporters of a certain political party will be summarily executed, so as to stop them from working for Indian interest.
India is increasing its naval strength because it wants to neutralize Chinese presence in the BoB. Burma is giving China a kind of facilitiy there, and BD is waiting for a Chinese assistance to build a multi-purpose deep-sea port in the Bay. This has panicked India to start adding new ships in its naval arsenal. However, with BD sided with China, the BoB will remain off-limit to Indian navy.
The ground reality does not support your theory mate. The Bangladeshi Army is slowly but steadily being cleansed of the Islamic types. These are the main supporters of China in BDA.
And FYI: The other guy was talking about BD and Burma being with India politically. Or bending under political pressure not military. Not talking about India taking over these countries. Lastly, even BD Army cannot stop IA because it wont be supported by its AF and Navy. It cant fight a war and even think of sustaining in isolation.
