Well i think India is becoming more independent now and looking out for its interests, but if tomorrow America can pressure India into accepting sanctions, then we will know who is the master of who.
LOL... it seems you are completely unaware of anything related to recent developments in foreign affairs, but you are yet too eager to comment.
India went head on against USA during the Copenhagen summit and WTO Doha talks. India received so much flak for not listening to the Americans at Copenhagen and Doha, but yet we stood for our interests. USA repeatedly pressurizes India to join the "anti-China club", but India has consistently refused to do so.
If India in the past voted against Iran, it was for its own interests - India does not want to see another nuclear weapons state in the region. Today, if India is supporting Iran it is again for its own interests as priorities have changed - India wants Iran's oil and gas and also cooperation in fighting Taliban in Afghanistan.
For India, its own interests is paramount. If Iran remains friendly to India and operates within the sphere of Indian interests, then Iran can very see an ally in India irrespective of what USA says. If you guys become too cozy with our rivals, then do not expect any friendliness from our side.
