Here, two races are Rural Chinese and Urban Chinese.

When China first liberalized the economy, rural income was actually higher than urban income. This was the early 1980s. At that time a lot of newly profitable farming enterprises where doing much better than the city dwellers. This is not apartheid, but capitalism. As food becomes scarce in the world, I can see a day when farmers make more income than city dwellers again.

I did say that it's unfair, but there are many ways to get out of it as proven by hundred millions of new urban Chinese. the upward movement is open to anyone in China. The easiest is through education. So the word apartheid is an insult to the apartheid victims as they never had the chance to get out of it just like people from lower cast.

As China is becoming more and more an urban society, the hukou will become obsolete by natural development.

10 years ago，many Chinese still thought the urban hukou is better than rural hukou.
But today in China things changed，rural hukou is thought to be better than urban hukou
I should have kept my rural hukou when I was a child.

The problem here is not with India but Indians who do not show 'straight face lairs' a mirror. Bad mouthing on Indian slums is not easy for Chinese.

kid, your Ghee is just pure fat. You can't eat beef in India, and thus will always be weak.

the average height of Chinese is far greater than that of the average Indian. There are far more gold medal weightlifters in China than in India. I don't need to repeat the 2009 PISA tests. Chinese are taller, stronger, smarter, better educated and more mannered than Indians, with few exception.

You havent seen slums in Chinese cities because your government can kick them out without anybody's consensus. That can never happen in India. Something we learn from the Delhi Administrators. I had been to China last year and I can assure you that there is a lot more freedom of thought, speech and expression in India than there is in China. Sure that leads to a bit of chaos. But thats the way we would like to move forward. We do not believe it when Wen Jiabao says that people representing their opinions publicly leads to chaos and slow growth. In India, it is all about consensus between different groups after the apparent chaos. I hope you get what I mean below preezing!

Right, something what you said are right, In china, especially the coastial city, Some people are kicked out of the city because of without ID. But now, such kind of thing are less than before, Just see the process of urbanization, in the process, You have to pay for it. And yes, you people have the right live in everywhere, We know, But now we make bigger achivement in urbanization than you, You still be there, and you children, next generation have to stand for the process more time, But chinese can live in a clean and well manage city!!

Whatever is the intention of Hukou system, its other thing. Kindly look at the Data from Economist Magazine based on UN-Habitat, even without Hukou System India and China had almost same percentage of Urban Slum Dwellers. And India was able to uplift more people out of Slums to better Housings since 1991 Economic reforms. You don't need such discriminatory laws to do such thing. Also, cities like Bangalore went Massive expansion in last 20yrs but still Slums are rarely seen in Bangalore.

And rural person working hard to enrich the economy of Megacities like Shanghai or Shenzen could not send his Children to school in the cities because the Child is born to a rural person. This is indeed Apartheid and Segregation. A person can't study in certain school because he/she is a rural person. Also, in Indian law says that every Indian has all rights to work in anyplace in the country and have right to enjoy all facilities, so indeed Hokou Sounds peculiar and discriminatory to us.
