Pakistan has the fastest growing nuke arsenal in the world costing billions of rupees! It's insane to spend so much on a useless bloated nuke program as nukes will never ever be used in war. At best they are nothing more than a deterrent which means just a few nukes can do the job.

The billions of rupees being spent by Pakistan could have been better utilized for poverty alleviation, health, education, infrastructure etc and improving the lives of the ordinary Pakistani which needless to say borders on the pathetic.

So don't pontificate and get your own house in order first.

The second time in 24 hours I am having to post this:


1) India's defence budget as a proportion of GDP is 1.78% as compared to Pakista's that is 3-4%
2) Of the national budget the defence budget occupies but 10-13%*, of Pakistan's national budget the military consumes >25% of your national budget
3) India spends FAR more (both in real terms and as a percentage of its GDP) on healthcare, education and poverty alieviation. India and China are the ONLY two nations to have met their UN MDGs on poverty reduction- in the same time poverty in Pakistan has INCREASED. Every year India is pulling >10,000,000 people out of poverty.
4) Pakistan is the only nation I can think of who has seen an increase in illiteracy as its GDP has grown.

*as @gslv mk3 has pointed out to me, India's defense budget is only 6.5% of the combined central-state budget expenditure.

These aren't extraordinary defence purchases but contained within the defence budget which is only 1.78% of GDP, are you asking India to spend even less than 1.78% on defence? What would be acceptable to you? 0.1%??


+ The 600 million figure is totally absurd, the poverty in India is unaccetpably hugh but it is not that hugh and concrete steps are bing taken to reduce it year in year out.

I know that people (Not only Pakistanis,but even Europeans etc.) are saying "Look there's too much poverty" etc. "and they spend each year billions and billions in weapons".
These people are acting as if India was spending 100% of their state budget to Defence,India is spending large amount of money on buying weapons as they are spending a lot fo money for education,fight against poverty,improve the infrastructures...... For exemple over the five next years,India will spend 137$ billions to improve the rail network.

insane philanthropist always come out with a lot of camouflage , the poor are also been taken care off and wait for the annual budget in 2016 , there will be massive allocation's for social welfare schemes . on the topic : our forces need up gradation which will and shall happen .
