What's new

India may annex parts of Bangladesh

Idol worshiping yes, but also majority Atheist.

Though I guess that might be worse than idol worshiping, I don't know?
Don't go there mate, these people can't see past their green tinted glasses, so no point arguing.

We may have a small window of opportunity to save Bangladesh from this Indian plan:
- if people of Bangladesh become aware of the dangers in time and then start taking steps to foil Indian plan
- if there is a way to remove pro-India Awami League from power and bring a China friendly party in power
- armed forces are expanded and bolstered with purchase of new equipment
- even if armed forces are built up and are stronger than before, it will not be enough to stop an Indian invasion, so a mutual defense treaty may have to be signed with China
- China may agree to this proposal if Bangladesh can provide some incentives such as full basing rights at any part of its territory and free movement of any branches of PLA (Ground Force, Navy and Air Force) and provide complete control (99 years lease) of one of the suitable Bangladeshi islands in Bay of Bengal, that can be turned into a PLAN Naval base

Excellent analysis brother.

Unfortunately, China is currently not strong enough to support a network of alliances like that, even America had to let Crimea go despite the 1994 agreement with Ukraine.

America used their unfair rights over the World Bank to push out a report showing that China has the "largest economy in the world", however both China and the USA know that we are at least 1-2 decades away from being able to effectively counter American hegemony in the world.

I understand your dissatisfaction with China's "non-interference policy", however the reality is that we are still in the stage of consolidating our national power, and developing our country. China might look strong compared to some neighbours, however our real problem is the USN and until we can "approach" their overall level of power, we will be on the back foot and forced to take a more low-key approach to world affairs.

Thus anything of this sort will be a medium-to-long term vision at the very least.

You really think that report was released with some plan in mind? What would be the benefit of this? Show China is the largest economy and then claim slow growth or something to scare investors?

@kalu miah, Bangladesh and Pakistan are liabilities for China just like North Korea, they are dead weight and an embarrassment as allies to anyone -

now look at the other possibility - in reply India allying with Japan, SK, Vietnam, Philippines, US, Taiwan, Australia etc.

Allies or friends, are not liabilities or embarrassments.

Since the Cold War, the world has been divided into American allies and Soviet allies (and non-aligned).

As a "new" power, China is late to the game when it comes to alliances, and that is something we have to work on in the next few decades.

Most of the countries you mentioned are "American allies".

It's not that they are joining India's camp, they are in the American camp, their mutual defence pacts are with America, their security is upheld by America.

None of these could be classified as being in the Indian camp.

China is a friend of the Muslim world, regardless of what they worship or not worship. And please disregard loose words by some people.

Loose words don't mean anything, I get along well with @aazidane in any case. :D

And you are right, China and the Muslim world are natural allies. The Sino-Islamic alliance is the greatest challenge to the dominance of Western civilization, and they know it.

.
I couldn't care less about the Chinese or Hindustan...both idol worshiping nations.

aazidane bhai, please be a little more careful with your words. We Muslims do not have too many friends in the world and we cannot afford to hurt feelings of people who are our potential friends and allies.

Alliances work as long as there is mutual benefit..
and Soviet allies cannot be called non-aligned.Cuba, for example was a Soviet ally.India, Egypt , for example were non-aligned.

Don't worry about it brother. Seriously, I don't know any Chinese who gets offended by being called an idol worshiper or an Atheist. We are generally not a very religious people, people don't care much either way.

You going to form an alliance against us?:(

Forgive us, its just that its hilarious to see folks who have explicitly stated that they will demolish the Indian state running around looking for allies so as to "protect" themselves from the same state. The sad miah and his cohorts have often engaged in inane attempts to highlight said animus and proclaimed their descent from Turks and Arabs.

You should ask them to clarify their stand, they believe that eventually PRC will wage war against us on their behalf and thereby allow them to expand the territorial boundary of Bangladesh at our expense.

We Idol worshippers are the worst accordig to the social system of Islam.

Like I said, we can't do much until we can approach American power. Economically and militarily. Only until then will be be able to form any sort of credible alliance in the world.

And that will take decades, at the VERY least. Until then this is mostly just theories and speculations.

We Idol worshippers are the worst accordig to the social system of Islam.

Well if I go to live in an Islamic country I will leave my Guanyin and Buddha statues behind then. :P Doesn't matter to me.
