China suffered 'far fewer' casualties than India in June clash: Global Times editor
(Reuters) - China suffered "far fewer" than the 20 deaths incurred by India's military in a clash on their border in the Himalayas in June, the Global Times editor-in-chief said in a tweet, contradicting a claim made by India's defence minister.

"No Chinese soldiers was captured by Indian troops, but PLA captured many Indian soldiers that day," Hu Xijin said in the tweet , referring to China's People's Liberation Army (PLA).

The Global Times is published by the People's Daily, the official newspaper of China's ruling Communist Party.

The tweet was accompanied by a screenshot, stamped 'fake news', of an Indian media report about defence minister Rajnath Singh saying India inflicted heavy casualties on Chinese forces during the fighting.

The June clash in the Ladakh region, in the western part of their border, was the worst violence between the nuclear-armed neighbours in decades. China has not released casualty figures for its troops.

"They (Indian troops) also sent a very strong message by imposing heavy casualties on the Chinese PLA," Singh was quoted as saying in the Indian parliament on Tuesday in the report https://www.hindustantimes.com/indi...n-lok-sabha/story-LCN5YDRaKWCzYgXLYcMBmN.html.

Hu Xijin is the Indian troll slayer 8-) :enjoy:

As far as I know, the death toll of Chinese troops in Galwan Valley clash on June 15 is far fewer than 20 deaths of Indian troops.

That means at least some died.

Wow so its still the same old India had much higher casualities than Chinas anything from 0 to 19 even according to the "worst" unverified hearsay Indians can find, with different words.

Guess that means India won big time and since India won they can drop all those embarassing fake graves stories, fake general list stories, fake chatlog stories and fake invasions of other countries diversion stories Indians are still parotting like brainless zombies to cope with their defeat.

Whats even more shameful is that their sacrifice was not even acknowledged by the Communist Party regime leave alone giving them military honours and state funeral.

Who apart from CPC paid trolls and their sweeter than honey friends would believe that in a brawl involving hundreds of soldiers just one side lost 20 soldiers while there was no casualty on the other side.

@faithfulguy Hope this Hu Xijin guy does not lose his job or head for saying the obvious in his article and tweet.

LOL, by not releasing own casulties, China has already driven Indians crazy. Indians have been sucking the same chewing gum for the last 3 months. What a small time crook mentality.

So the Chinese didn’t honour their dead soldiers publicly and buried them thousands of miles away in a frozen desert to drive Indians crazy. I’ll have to give it to the high IQ comrades of CPC for such strategic thinking.

And these small time crook mentality Indians accepted their martyrs and gave them full state honour funeral.

Btw Who’s been singing the ‘we didn’t suffer a single casualty‘ song since the last 3 months ?

Any claim to honour Indians had was immediately lost when they started screeching about imaginary Chinese deaths and multiplying the figure week by week

Not releasing chinese death number was not to deteriorate relationship further, it was widely circulated on Chinese web that chinese death was low single digits. China did the right thing not to release numbers.

If you can't stomach the loss, don't provoke the fight. Chinese are cool with their own casualty in any military conflicts, knowning each and every fallen soldier will be properly honored and his family will be well taken care of.

Indians' obsession about Chinese casulty seems to be rather weird and dishonest. You guys don't really care the loss of life, you only care which side lost more lives. You guys would have a nation carnival had China lost more soldiers. So stop pretending.

Ok, Why are they releasing it now?

It's the other way around buddy. India as a country stopped talking about casualties a week past Incident.

It's the China bots on here that make light of our soldiers death while claiming zero casualties. Only proof they got is look India agressed since then. I mean we have to give it to superior CCP IQ.

We just make fun of the 60 Indian officers that fought so poorly and surrendered so easily.

Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh declared on Tuesday that the Indian army inflicted heavy casualties on the Chinese army in the June 15 skirmish in Galwan Valley. Such rhetoric is aimed at inspiring Indian nationalist forces, and I will expose this lie today. According to the information from people familiar with the situation from the Chinese side, the number of Chinese soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the conflict was far less than the number of India's. Twenty Indian soldiers died in the clash, many of whom were wounded and frozen to death as they could not get medical treatment. But it could be counted as a huge loss even if only one Chinese soldier died.

Based on what I know, frontline officers and soldiers of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) are brave and united. Most of them were born in the 1990s, or even 2000s. In the face of the sudden conflict, none of them showed fear.

The Indian troops failed to honor their promise. A few officers and soldiers of the Chinese army went to the border area which the Indian troops illegally trespassed into for negotiation, but the Indian army attacked them without any warning, leading to the clash.

At the start of the skirmish, the Chinese soldiers were outnumbered, but some of them fought to their last breath, and no one was captured by the Indian army. The Indian troops fled in great disorder after the Chinese army began to counterattack, with some rolling down the mountains and some falling into the river. Quite a number of Indian soldiers surrendered to the PLA, and were captured.

In the latest conflict near the Pangong Tso Lake, Indian troops "preempted" PLA's activity (meaning they illegally trespassed the border), and showcased that they had gained an advantage by occupying highlands and throwing stones at the PLA. But based on what I know, brave PLA soldiers disregarded the Indian threats and drove away the Indian troops from the highlands. The Chinese army has gained advantageous positions at many points in the standoff.

People familiar with the situation told me that frontline officers and soldiers of the PLA now have high morale at the China-India border. The Indian troops are no match for them at all. The conflicts this year have severely dampened Indian troops' arrogance in nibbling at Chinese territory, making India re-examine their understanding of China's determination, and will to resolutely defend its territorial sovereignty.

Chinese and Indian foreign ministers reached a five-point consensus in Moscow last week. We sincerely hope the consensus can be fully implemented for a turning point in the China-India border situation. But this requires the Indian government and society to calm down and form a collective rationality on China-India ties. If India intends to rough up on the border issues, it will only suffer losses without gaining the advantage it wants.

The morale of the Indian army cannot be compared to that of the PLA, nor can the Indian army's equipment or India's national strength be matched to those of China. As far as I know, the PLA has fortified its position at the China-India border area, and its logistical capability is highly advanced. The PLA officers and soldiers on site can enjoy a variety of hot dishes. It is no problem for them to spend the winter there. The PLA can launch a heavy counterattack at the Indian army's new provocation at any time, and Chinese people believe that the PLA will never be gentle to the provocative Indian troops in the future. This means the Indian army will not become a bargaining chip for India to realize its unreasonable demands at the border. Resolving disputes through negotiations is not only a good choice for both sides, but the only option for India.

Last but not least, I would like to pay tribute to the brave frontline PLA officers and soldiers, to the heroic souls of the martyrs, and to the diplomats fighting on complicated forefronts.

Ok, Why are they releasing it now?

1. China still didn't officially release anything, this is from editor of a major newspaper who has close tie with the government.
2. Response to Indian defense minister trolling about china supposedly lost "more" people
