What's new

India left "disappointed" as US goes ahead with F-16 sale to Pakistan.

Summon all US envoys across the world, still won't change anything. Like I told those that were being smug about Indian influence in the US, Don't overestimate the Indian influence, and don't underestimate Pakistan.
these guys are unbelievable
they are banking on their rants and bribes to change US decision. just goes to show the obsession against Pakistan although we are normally told they dont care about us.

On just 8 F-16s?? What a cry baby!
8 or 80 F-16s..WTF they think they are? through paying some senators they think they can drive US foreign policy.

Not that I want to really , cause any pain to ones who are crying.

Crying is healthy way to let go of one's emotion and helps ease the burden

I just wanted to point my humble opinion that we ordered 14 Helmets while we are getting 8 planes

Is anyone else thinking what I am thinking

For other F16s in the inventory

To all the idiots who think India's reaction is unjustified...get it into your thick heads that this is how a nation's foreign policy works. How does China react when US sells F-16s to Taiwan? Can Taiwan win a war with China using F-16s? Not every nation has a disastrous foreign policy like Pakistan.

US approves F-16 fighter jets sale to Pakistan, India disappointed | india | Hindustan Times

India on Saturday expressed disappointment over US administration’s decision to sell eight F16 fighter jets to Pakistan, saying it disagrees that such arms’ transfers will help combat terrorism.

Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar will be summoning US Ambassador Richard Verma to convey India’s “displeasure”. “We are disappointed at the decision of the Obama Administration to notify the sale of F-16 aircrafts to Pakistan. We disagree with their rationale that such arms transfers help to combat terrorism,’ the external affairs ministry said in a statement.

.The Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency said it had notified lawmakers about the possible sale on Thursday. It said the sale would improve Pakistan’s capability to meet current and future security threats.

Following the US announcement, Ministry of External Affairs on Saturday expressed disappointed over the decision of Obama administration to sell eight F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan.

“We disagree with their rationale that such arms transfers help to combat terrorism,” Vikas Swarup, a spokesman for India’s Foreign Ministry, said on Twitter.

Reason why we should just be mere business partners with US. Nothing more.

Also keep out of SCS if we are taking sides with US.
Cooperate with each party involved in SCS and work to improve bilateral ties with China.

To India For Disappointment!

Exactly, we deserved this. We should learn from the past and work for only India's agenda, not for that of US.

Time for India to look to resolve everything with China and improve trade.

WASHINGTON, Feb. 12, 2016 - The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Pakistan for F-16 Block 52 Aircraft, equipment, training, and logistics support. The estimated cost is $699.04 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on February 11, 2016.

The Government of Pakistan has requested a possible sale of:

Major Defense Equipment (MDE):
Eight (8) F-16 Block 52 aircraft (two (2) C and six (6) D models), with the F100-PW-229 increased
performance engine
Fourteen (14) Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing Systems (JHMCS)

Non-MDE items included in this request are eight (8) AN/APG-68(V)9 radars, and eight (8) ALQ-211(V)9 Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare Suites (AIDEWS). Additionally, this possible sale includes spare and repair parts, support and test equipment, publications and technical documentation, personnel training and training equipment, U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical and logistics support services, and other related elements of logistical and program support. The estimated cost of MDE is $564.68 million. The total estimated cost is $699.04 million.

This proposed sale contributes to U.S. foreign policy objectives and national security goals by helping to improve the security of a strategic partner in South Asia.

The proposed sale improves Pakistan's capability to meet current and future security threats. These additional F-16 aircraft will facilitate operations in all-weather, non-daylight environments, provide a self-defense/area suppression capability, and enhance Pakistan’s ability to conduct counter-insurgency and counterterrorism operations.

This sale will increase the number of aircraft available to the Pakistan Air Force to sustain operations, meet monthly training requirements, and support transition training for pilots new to the Block-52. Pakistan will have no difficulty absorbing these additional aircraft into its air force.

The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region.

Contractors have not been selected to support this proposed sale. There are no known offset agreements proposed in connection with this potential sale.

Implementation of this proposed sale will not require the assignment of any additional U.S. Government or contractor representatives to Pakistan.

There will be no adverse impact on U.S. defense readiness as a result of this proposed sale.

This notice of a potential sale is required by law and does not mean the sale has been concluded.

All questions regarding this proposed Foreign Military Sale should be directed to the State Department's Bureau of Political Military Affairs, Office of Congressional and Public Affairs, pm-cpa@state.gov.

Ah so u mean, Hindia going menstrual is part of Hindia's being.
Makes sense actually.

But sadly our govt still sleeping,we should keep away US from our defence matters. They are the no1 backstabber in modern history. The most surprising factor is that most of the Indian PDF members are still licking uncle Sam's balls & keep away Russians.

Thats not the point. If you want India to be friendly or so called ally stop this rubbish nonsense of arming pakistan. Even india can export a few missiles to iran or north korea and provide the same reason. To put it in americas own words you are either with us or against us.

Agreed, it is matter of principles we need to put forward our concerns. If America continues the same policy of balancing india with pakistan by providing weapons India should simply stay away from SCS. India should send a strong message by backing the china led SCO. Not sending a message would simply reinforce that Indians will put up with anything thrown at them.
