If India hadn't interfered, it would have taken us maybe twelve months instead of nine to liberate Bangladesh. Arms would have come in - in some other conduit. A whole nation cannot be subdued if they are determined. Study Dien Bien phu sometime.

By the time ragtag under-nourished Indian Army rolled in we helped them with logistics, intel and planning to defeat the Pakistani Army which was mostly limited to sitting in a few cantonments. The prize was theirs for the taking.

In return - the retreating Indian army stole everything clean from all our industrial establishments as war-booty. This is well documented and a fact.

Indian govt. interfered because of its own two selfish goals incubated since 1947,

1. Break Pakistan to strategically make it a weak and a failed state and neutralize any threat on its East.
2. Make East Pakistan (Bangladesh) a convenient 15~20 Billion dollar market without taking on the headache of administering and paying for developing this Muslim-majority area.

In hindsight - first goal was mostly met.

Second goal will eventually backfire (it is already this way) because Bangladesh will unexpectedly become a major source of manufactured imports for India, and be a market only for low grade inputs/resources and low-cost non-value-addition items from undeveloped NE India. The closed economy high tariff model for India is not sustainable.

Can India sell low grade garbage like Hajmola candy, Dabur toothpaste and Parachute coconut oil in Bangladesh? Possibly for now - as there are plenty of poor people. But they have to be made locally.

Can India sell manufactured high-value-addition items like fridges, aircons, microwaves, tv's to Bangladesh? Not likely and Not ever. Even Indian motorcycles (like Hero) have to be locally made now.

What you just wrote above just complies to you, Well 90% of the world buys cheap stuff whats wrong in it? If you are rich and prosperous doesn't mean Bangladesh is a developed country, you people have nothing compared to Pakistan, just because you enjoy peace and are developing doesn't makes you the Asian tiger, if Pakistan had a peaceful environment to grow, they would had certainly become a country like south Korea or Germany, that peace being enjoyed by Bangladesh is courtesy of India....

Average south Korean is taller than average North Korean even though they have the same genetics. It is due to diet.

Bangladeshis are gaining more heights than Indians. For example Bangladeshi woman has got 9 cm extra height compared to Indian womans 5 cm. South Korean woman has got 8 inch at the same time.

Europeans were around 5' tall in 19th century but now they are much taller.
