India is no match for China in the SAARC summit

Would be great if US, India and China all competed to invest in de facto Chinese allies like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, friendly states like Nepal, and of course Pakistan whose interests are essentially inseparable from China's. China can bankrupt India and the United States, while strengthening countries who are against India. Bangladesh can increase the gap in literacy and social indicators, Sri Lanka will grow very wealthy, and Pakistan's asymmetric power will increase while Nepal and Bhutan run for their lives out of India's grasp.

Is that what the CCP is doing?

It will be much better if you take care for small countries of SCS, just stop threatening them and leave your hostile behavior against them. Just because of this behavior so many US military base in your own backyard and it will be better not to advise others.

The very same US bases have been there for decades. Sure, the US will install more rape camps in the Philippines but it's going to cost them.

The only way for this crappy organization to prosper is for China to become a member, otherwise get rid of it.

If you wish you can get rid, SAARC will function even without you. But China not allowed in SAARC.

There is so much of discussion on China getting SAARC membership, can any one say whats the procedure of getting the membership or being denied the membership of SAARC?

Nearly all the other members want China to join, except india, so it will happen.

You did not understand my question. I asked, how a country can become a member of SAARC? Whats the procedure followed? And if some country applies or membership on what basis it can be denied? Whether consent of all members required or majority prevails?

Not only India knows what China can do in SAARC but other SA nations also want India to be checked, that's the reality, wheither India like or not this admission issue will not vanished tomorrow...we Chinese stand not lost, we can play a cooperation game or zero sum game, we dont run out of option.

You can play as much as you want, or whatever game you want to play, but your entry into SAARC depends upon our consent, so you know your fate.

All members should agree, and anyone can veto it.

Ok. So unless all agree, no other country can join SAARC. Now I can see the gates of SAARC locked and keys in India's hands. One more thing, do all countries in SAARC have equal voting right or weightage? From land, population, defence and economy perspective India will account for more than 80% of SAARC. So all 20% unite to vote can not and should not be considered a majority. just a loud thinking.

Voting rights are equal but because of the veto power majority votes become meaningless if even one member is opposing any move. The issue of China's membership in SAARC is completely political, and India won't allow China to have the political control over SA that comes with a SAARC membership status with veto power.

Well, a new member is sponsored by a member country, in this case Pakistan, and then it goes through a procedure, eventually leading to a vote, that is why it is inevitable that China will become a member, the vast majority want it so, and india can procrastinate only for so long.

You are trying too hard to hold onto a failed argument, china cannot become a member unless India agrees to it, and who in South Asia can pressurize India to do that? Because of the veto power majority vote is pointless unless china has all the votes, so both you and china can forget about it.

Please go ahead do whatever you wish too. All the best, with money in pocket I am planning to buy the world attitude.
