I agree there is obvious increase in population of Pakistan. But then how can there be such a reduction of 16-17% in 48 to 3% now?
Don't you think there will some proportional growth as well? How come it is not there?

Dude, I don't have the exact figs but lets say Pakistans population was 40 million in 1947 including all religions. Three and half million hindus or 8.75% left, now add 3.5 million muslims that came to Pakistan so the total remains est 40 million.
17% (non muslims) of 40 million is roughly 7 million, deduct 3.5 million that migrated to India you're left with 3.5 million, thats again 8.75%
Now muslim paopulation has grown rapidly causing further decrease in %.
I won't deny that a number of minorities preferred to leave Pakistan. Thats their choice.
