Yes we should... But that literally happened in a state of ultimate chaos and where Pakistan's control was next to zero. There are enough arguments nowadays that a lot of local groups committed the genocide too...

The war by India didn't help control things either.

How many genocides in Present day Pakistan?

would the recent riots in Karachi be classified as genocide?

.
It's got to do a lot with the actual situation on ground as compared to India's situation on paper :P.

In Pakistan, Hindus are treated equal (and not allowed to become President) and they become Chief Justice, ministers and are also found in every wake of high to medium level jobs such as modeling, writers, musicians, bankers.

In India either a Muslim is appeased and 'brought' to the level of President for India's showmanship or either he's ******* in some patch of dirt... You don't have regular Muslims! OK ok, best thing to tell about the Pakistani- Indian comparison. In India, Most Muslims hate India or are at least unpatriotic (yes not Shahrukh Khan or that Feroz Khan or ummm Amir Khan maybe) but regular joes... Let's say a middle class clerk from Gujarat? Or from UP?

In Pakistani Hindus would kick your *** just the same for dissing Pakistan. Literally.

.
It will be a good debate to have Hindus a right to be the President.

Does it has anything to do with being moderate? Hardly. It all comes down to the preference of who is ruling you.

.
So can I take it that the people of Pakistan, the majority of them being Muslims, don't want a Hindu become President ?
When has that been an electoral issue? Pakistani non-Muslims have barely ever lobbied for the cause. Indian Hindus are the only ones concerned about it. Pakistani non-Muslims made efforts for the joint electorate system and come Musharraf were added in the electoral process.

They can vote their ministers in. Pakistan CAN become a majority Hindu government by the law... How much of a stretch is it to believe that a PM and President would be Hindu? There just hasn't been a good Hindu candidate ever... The joint electorate is just one election old.

Are we?:smokin:
What kind of democratic norms ?
I don't know... Doing what the people want done?

When is India going to do what the people want done?

.
You win. :)

Skin color shows it all mate. Nothing racist.

The question is not about I win or I loose. There is nothing to win or loose here.
It is all about debating one's perception.

When Pakistanis can claim "higher moral ground" over riots in Gujarat by pointing "1000 muslims killed", can Indians ask Pakistanis to own up what they did in 1971. Is that fair enough?

Both the nations have blood on it's hands. Hence it sounds hypocritical when Pakistanis keep pointing out only Gujarat riots in every discussion.

And what is this "skin color" thingi?

20 People died fighting each other in a riot...

Seriously you want to start comparing Karachi's 20 with your 2000 killed by your GOVERNMENT!? Pregnant bellies ripped open by YOUR GOVERNMENT?

Why did you vote for people who wanted to rip open pregnant bellies?

How do you say that you know about more about ground reality in India than Indians who live there?

Could we also argue that the CJs post is also for "appeasement"?

Let me write a little more before I go out for a bite.

Its all from my perspective and its all my opinion.

Muslims don't dare or care to speak against something if its done in the name of religion or when the Arabs do their naughty things once in a while. Well, mostly. There are exceptions and gladly this tribe appears to be increasing amongst the educated non-practicing few.

(Dont argue yet. I'm not writing this to debate. I'm just putting things on record.)

When the Bamiyan were knocked down, when Darfur is burning, when Shia's kill Sunnis(or the other way around depending on the country) or generally speaking when the Muslims are at fault - all that the Kaffir world is getting to see and hear is a thundering silence from the global Muslim community.

The same thundering silence was what we can hear and see in Pakistan about this law or any other equally stupid practice in the name of Islam. Again, mostly.

So numbers is all that matters for classification?

Should I remind you that innocent people died in Gujarat figting each other just like in Karachi.

Since you say the government carried it out,can I point it out that MQM members which is in Power in Karachi, carried out most of the killing.

I dont see any difference. why shouldn't that be classified as genocide then?

There is no defense for people who carried out the heinous act of killing a pergrant lady.No one is defending these people. Given a chance I dont mind shooting these people myself.

Dude no one's claimed the higher moral ground here, except Indians... We're just saying "Remember that you are no better".

Actually one mob was brought in by ANTI-government elements INTO Karachi to fight with Karachi.

Karachi kicked their *****. Innocents died on Karachi's end. Let's put it this way, the innocents died fighting FOR the government. Your freakin government killed the innocents!!!

.
When has that been an electoral issue?

A few more nitpickings before I go.
In a country where most people are moderate I'd expect this to be a huge electoral issue.

I don't know... Doing what the people want done?

If you don't know - don't speak about it. You're just not qualified.

So what about people killed who were anti-gov? can they also be classified as killed by the "government"?
Sorry but the logic is nonsense.

Dude the Muslim world is not in a state to get involved in other Muslim state's affairs and settle them down. If we were that brilliant we wouldn't have allowed others to meddle around in our affairs in the first place.

The countries that can (Pakistan, Turkey) always do the little that the economy would permit.

Now if you are expecting some grand gestures from countries like syria, yemen, somalia then please... It was Muslim Pakistan that went in and cleaned up the Sierra Leone mess. It is Muslim Bangladesh that commits the highest number of forces to the UN Peacekeeping mission followed by Pak.

Give us the same resources the United States has then we'll go in and start liberating the non-Muslim Assamese and Nagas too :D

Your comparison is flawed. If it's lipservice you are looking for, then google around you'll find several quotes on every issue.

They came to fight. They died in a fight they created. Their act was unlawful, they came bearing arms. The end would've been the same no matter who they fought in Karachi - a lot of innocents dead.

It's good that people who came from outside to pick a fight died than the ones who didn't go there to fight.
