India Has Planted Nearly 50 Million Trees In 24 Hours

Around 15 mix of sapota, guava, mango, tamarind around my house

Remaining in area around my work place ... Ample space in some areas .. A mix of neem, jamun, sapota, mangoes (baiganpally), and whole loads of tamarind again ....

All perfect for growing in Hyderabad .... Am making @Joe Shearer's environment green and healthy.

Good that you decided to plant them around your house and office area. I hope you will be able to take care of these for around a year or so and then hopefully most of them wont require that much attention. Since these are mostly fruit plants so you may need to tend to them sometimes but after an year or so it is not that much difficult of a job!

I suppose you are a langra or an alphonso aficionado. On my private list, the Punjabis freak out on some of the breeds, but I haven't been very active anywhere, and can't remember what they fancied.

For me it will be like Sufaid Chaunsa (White Chaunsa) and Anwar ratol on Top. Followed by Alphonso and langra and the likes. Frankly, i never bothered to rate and rank them after Chaunsa and Anwar Ratol
There is one we call Samar Bahisht Chaunsa or some call it Zulf-e-Bangel, very rare, low yield but it is THE MANGO!! Better than anything (not just mangoes) you ever had! (in my ratings at least)

@Arsalan Dusheri and Chausa have thriving at orchards up north ...so I do enjoy those provided am at home town in summers.
These were planted for the green drive undertaken all over India. Sapota, I share your enthusiasm for them and had the first fruit from own backyard yesterday incidentally .....single fruit yet!

Best tree to plant Imli trees.
They grow big, they grow anywhere and they need no maintenance. Just plant one and have nice Imli for a long long time.

They suck out water from soil !

When I cook it, I fill a textile bag with it. It can be used for one more time. Of course, I am mad of bit'in them.



You cook Mango or eat it as fruit? In my city, they plant mango trees besides road as green belt, when the fruit is ripe, they are forgotten lonely on the trees.

Down South Western Coast of India (Konkan region), we cook mango and make a sauteed thick curry out of it. It just tastes Hhhhhhhhhhheavennnnnnlyyyyy..... And one must have it with puffy Poorees.. crispy, hot and fresh out of the kadhai.
