FO accuses India of hampering terror fight
| Asks New Delhi to refrain from attempts to create misunderstandings between Pakistan, Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan on Tuesday rejected Indian allegations about so-called terror boat and termed baseless and preposterous the reports alleging that Pakistani boat was on a mission.
“Pakistan is opposed to terrorism in all forms and manifestations and has been the biggest victim of terrorism,” Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam said in a statement.
The spokesperson said the people and government of Pakistan were determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism. She said the brave armed forces of Pakistan were successfully conducting a comprehensive and across the board operation - Zarb-e-Azb to root out terrorism.
“On the other hand, the people of Pakistan see the escalation of tension by India on the Line of Control and Working Boundary, through continuous unprovoked firing and targeting of civilians, as an attempt to distract our armed forces from its valiant mission against all terrorists.”
“The baseless and preposterous Indian allegations regarding the so called ‘terror boat’ from Pakistan are also in the same vein,” the spokesperson added.
Commenting on the statement of the Indian spokesperson, Tasneem Aslam said India also made equally baseless and malicious allegations regarding the ‘citings’ of Punjabi/Urdu speaking terrorist elements in Afghanistan.
She asked New Delhi to refrain from attempts to create misunderstandings between Pakistan and Afghanistan. “The two brotherly nations are bound by common destiny, shared culture, history and religion. These efforts are also in violation of all international norms,” she concluded.
Agencies adds: Tensions between South Asia’s arch rivals escalated last week when an Indian border guard and two Pakistani paramilitary soldiers were killed during exchanges of heavy fire.
Recent exchanges of fire across the de facto border, known as the Line of Control (LoC) have killed more than two dozen civilians and forced thousands to flee their homes on both sides.
Pakistan and India, who have fought two wars over Muslim-majority Kashmir, have traded blame for the upsurge in firing and shelling which started on October 6 last year.
India called off peace talks last August after Pakistan first consulted Kashmiri leaders, a move some saw as a sign of a tougher stance by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new right-wing government.
ALL ISSUES CAN BE RESOLVED THROUGH TALKS: SARTAJ
Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that all issues between Pakistan and India can be resolved through dialogue. Talking to a private TV channel, he said it was India which suspended Foreign Secretary level talks without any reason.
Sartaj Aziz said it was expected that after elections in Occupied Kashmir, there would be improvement in Pakistan-India ties, but it did not happen; rather, India increased working boundary violations, which is regrettable. He said India should have welcomed the operation of Pakistan Army in North Waziristan against terrorists.
