India finalises contract with American GE for 99 aircraft engines

And same thing vise versa, but difference is that we don't have to pay any thing:lol:

Yes, you don't incase you crash in India.

But you missed a point, will you be able to enter in Indian Airspace with your best aircraft F-16(couple decade old technology). You will have all the time and permission to come and collect the pieces for your beloved aircraft. Because it will be killed withing your own airspace. So, be happy you don't have to pay any liabilities either way.:victory:

After reading this report i wonder Can Tejas carry a nuclear Missile ? I mean can it crash in pakistan accidently while carrying a live nuclear warhead which it took out just for a fresh air coz u see we have no enemy in that region expect u know who????:D

no these are 2 different things,
1. it shouldnt be used to carry nuclear weapons - its highly unlikely that India will use LCA to carry Nuclear weapons as there are more potent platforms available with us.
2. it should not cross Indin borders - not at least in Pakistan. again dont think will happen as LAC will be used as Air defence or point defence perpose.

either way all the conditions will be fulfilled, but we dont want any bindings.

Best in its class on par or even better than Snecma M88 and Eurojet EJ200 ... and definitely way better than GE-F404 engines :smitten:

. . .
NO.. regular F414 has around 98kn.. even gripen ng has f414G with 98kn

Then there s EDE version and EPE version..those are not offered i guess, which has more power

. . . .
Regular F414 has 7 stages high & low pressure core

Indian version mention GE F414S6 .. i guess 6 stages..:undecided:

no info regarding Indian version..

even M88 has 6 stages..

LCA is a light weight (lightest in the world) fighter....its more than sufficient thrust for it.

Maybe the lightest fighter but I am curious about how it will perform in deserts in Rajasthan with simmering heat of 50 deg C or on the highlands of Leh !!

Answer for that visit thread on LCA, there are very interesting links and analysis by senior members like sancho are given.

BTW, tests of LCA in Rajasthan, Leh, humid regions etc. have already been done and cleared......
