India drops out of 2012 PISA test

You Chinese have now right to talk about low quality or even quality.

This assertion is based on the violations of patents happening in China .

Regarding PISA tests they are one in hundred and there are other tests like "spell bee" and lot where India excels.

Lol..China has done better job than india even under the tech sanctions from west.o many years of tech transfers you are getting from all sources in the west and ussr even then your result is poor with all the spoon feeding.China has done better even when it still is under sanction from west wrt to technology. if there was no tech sanction on china it would have done even better.

They obviously didnt have much say if you see that China is treated by provinces, artificially elevating the image. The other provinces tested lower, close to but lower then OECD average as per the wiki article i read. You can deduce from that, that if China was treated as a one country the result would be lower.
Capital cities tend to have good schools in them.

The same as in India because both of them are not member states of the OECD.

The worst provinces, though far from Shanghai's level, they still managed to be near OECD average and there are still quite some large costal provinces that reached the upper third of the PISA result.

I would think that China would probably still attain a high placement at around place 5 to 10, since the poorest areas also have the lowest population.

only Shanghai, which is not representative of the whole of China, although the other 11 provinces were not too shabby, but if included China would not be at 1st place anymore.

Correct! We took the test in 2009 in which Shanghai students were our representatives.

The PISA committee also gave the tests to students of some other not well-off provinces so as to make a comparison before the full-fledged test is implemented in 2012. To the organisers' amazement, the other Chinese students were doing just as good as OECD students. The test result of 2012 PISA will be released next year.

Read carefully my post! 2012 result for the PISA test has not been officially released yet unless you are privy to the result which is to be released soon in 2013

That is Zhejiang (red bar) and in "reading comprehension" only in which the school kids have done well in Zhejiang but country wide the score is below international average by 7 points (@ 486)!

There are also tests on Science and Math.
