India developing sub-sonic 1,000-km range cruise missile 'Nirbhay': DRDO chief

if that is the case india is stuck at 2nd generation production and not even good at that, seeing how many mig-21s fall out of the sky.

the quality of indian pilots never ceases to amaze me.

those upgraded mig 21's r good to take care of ur j10's and other mig 19's n mig 21 copies...cry n troll but u aint gonna win:rofl:

um, havent the other indian members already pointed out news of chinese crashes? we had a crash just last summer in the Peace Mission 2009 exercises with Russia.

however these are isolated cases and we only lose 1 plane every few years, as opposed to india which loses multiple per year.
This is a meaningless 'statistic'. Assuming India crashes more than China, even though we may not know the exact circumstances of each event, we do know that a crash is one result of flight, the other result is a successful landing. So if there are ten crashes, we know there are at least ten flights. These ten could mean the Indian pilots were either utterly incompetent or that they were competent but the Indian Air Force is pushing their limits to become better. A wise military leader would always assume the latter.

Well MiG 21 is an high altitude interceptor and everyone knows that the flight controls are sluggish below 3000ft. The pride of IAF is that they tend to fly low and fly really fast. Do your math. The MiG 21 bison has the new FCS so the crashes are lesser.

Gambit, The flight hours of IAF is on an average of 200-220 hours for every pilot in the IAF. I couldnt get the exact statistics for fighter pilots.
