Restrictions on exporting technology from US

It said part of the reason why China’s space sector is not as commercially viable is because of US restrictions on exporting required technology to the US.

Many of the world’s satellites are made in or use parts from the US. However, satellites and components made in the US are prohibited from being exported to China, making it very difficult for China to get contracts for commercial satellite launches with other countries,” it said.

But China is likely to put the wherewithal in place quickly.

You need to check Chinese space launch record since the 90s bhai, we can't launch anything with US components due to embargo, that's why all new launches are full packages which include the satellites, example DFH-4 for Thailand, Belarus, Bolivia, Laos, Indonesia, Nigeria, Venezuela, etc. Open your mind and learn the truth. We were launching 4 tonners for US back in the 90s, 20 years ago bhai. You just achieve a small step and start jumping like monkeys shouting supa powa 2012.

ISRO launches are only cheap coz its subsidized, you piggy back it. Ex: You are launching GSATs, since there is some space, you give out cheap space for other small microsats, thereby you claim it's cheap. The truth is when you go for higher payloads for commercial satellites, the cost increases exponentially like Ariane-5, LM-3B, H-IIA, etc. Understand? You can try launching with GSLV MKIII and see if it's cheap if it's standalone foreign satellite, not subsidized piggback.

Regarding reliability, check your GSLV-MKII reliablity first, you are comparing one PSLV against 4 families of launchers in China. The more you launch the more risk you face, the same problem the US and Russia faces.

Up until 2016, your solar panels, lithium batteries and titanium sponges are imported, and guess who is the major producer of all three items. =)

We are under embargo, how the heck can we even buy satellite components from the West? The only thing we managed to smuggle in were the Beidou one atomic clocks. :D

You mixed launch costs, satellite costs and facilities build up into one category of launches.

Indian rockets are cheaper than their Chinese counterparts because they mostly use solid fuel not liquid fuel like most Chinese vehicles use. China's space program is not built for cost effectiveness. No wonder all customers are coming to india instead.

I don't know why solid fuel would be cheaper. It certainly provides smaller lift with the same mass. One possible reason for India to focus on solid fuel rocket is that the whole research will benefit its ICBM program.

You do know all launches are actually tracked by NORAD, everybody will know if any launcher failed. Get it?

There you go. If we were allowed to launch US satellites and satellites with US components, we would monopolize the market. Understand? Btw, we had been launching satellites commercially since the 90s, it is India who is the infant...:lol:

PSLV can launch up to 3.8 tons into LEO. You should double check your sources before posting such BS. As for your claim no one is taking PSLV seriously, how many commercial sats has india launched in the last year compared to how many china has launched in the last year?

It's funny how some Chinese media tout ISRO's launch of 104 sats in one go as "limited capability" but they are unable to do the same.

Ignore the false flag. The pattern is, when it comes to India's internal affairs, there will be a lot of Pakistani members commenting. But when it comes to space related thread, there will be a lot of Chinese for obvious reasons.

70% success rate is absolutely horrendous when it comes to launch vehicle reliability

take a look at others

Delta - 95% success rate
long march series - 95.5%
space x - 94%
Ariane 5 - 95.7%
proton(which has had issues recently due to quality control) - 88.6%
