Last post re. topic, my promise.

Banglore alone @ ~ 330,000 jobs/qtr. :smitten:

Pop. 'only' 8.5 Million, whole metro region!
  1. If it was only statistics then 3.3 x 4 = 1.32 million white collar Banglore jobs alone/yr. Hehe x 5 yrs., for Modi govt. even if local is Congress govt, that's approx. 6.5 million jobs in 5 yrs. in Banglore alone.
All India easily twice that, say 13 million.

Mind-boggling, but real figures.

Again was amazed when I googled and found 7000 colleges and universities.
x 1000 grads/yr. x 5 yrs. and guess what, @ 35 million, it's do-able. CraZzaZzyyyy..

^^
Related, but not directly to above; below comes the first per/yr. evidence of Indian IT prowess:
  • " in the nation's $146 billion technology outsourcing sector ".
    ($ 146 Billion = approx. $ 1460 x10 PPP re. India's infra. deficit,
inputs re. infra being mostly local labour, cement, steel, sand etc. @ least x10 cheaper )

How low-key professionals at IT companies like Wipro, Cognizant, others becoming the pivot for winning big-ticket deals - The Economic Times

Article says 10 million jobs. And Rs. 7.5 Lac Cr.'s.

1. Since most of said IT & ITES work is city work and came about in the last 15-25 yrs.; the industry must have soaked up the workforce in the cities.

2. Said Lac's of Cr.'s mostly end up in the cities and since this is a travel friendly, expense based Global industry rather then mill hands type of city work earlier; it explains the quiet and evolutionary buzz felt in Indian cities.

3. New airports, malls, metro networks, new 'hoods, BRT's, expressways, flyaways, pedestrian skywalks, new bus fleets, taxi fleets, schools, colleges, hospitals, restaurants, theaters and all kinds of new 'infrastructure'; amazing because India is a rural votebank democracy. City folks have little say in the political system, maybe except slum and ghetto packers.

Different kind of revolution. No wonder Indian cities are on a tear. All good, fantastic even.
