India crash lands into world's super sonic SSM club

My pakistani friends are missing the point here..
Firstly the Brahmos has already been inducted into the army, on JUN 27, 2007..it is capable of carrying a 200kg warhead, upto speeds upto 5.4 machs..which is phenonmenal ...it can be modified to carry upto 600kg warhead at speeds upto 2.3 mach..which is amazing for a CRUISE MISSILE..(compared to pakistani BABUr which can carry loads upto 300kg only and has a max speed of 0.8 mach)

Coming to the recent test..
what was being tested was Brahmos II..a hypersonic..deadly variant..capable of reaching a crusing speed of 3.2 mach..with an increased payload...
This was actally the seond test of bramhos 2 first was carried out on feb 12, 2008..which was a success...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
-Read this(from wikipedia)..
Brahmos 2 Program

A hypersonic follow on to the Brahmos is to be launched as a follow on to the original Brahmos. Referred to as Brahmos 2, the missile would still follow the guidelines of the MTCR but would fly at speeds of 7 Mach.[74] A five year development timeframe is anticipated.[75]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------"
Talking about the indian contribution...Read this(from wikipedia)
India has been responsible for the Navigational systems on the BrahMos, other aspects of its propulsion, airframe and seeker, plus its Fire Control Systems, Mobile Command posts and Transporter Erector Launcher. Indian firms such as Godrej Group, Larsen and Toubro, Tatas. have played a vital role in the program.[69] Twenty One Indian companies and seven Russian ones contribute components to the Brahmos program.[70]

So it is pretty clear that the missile is to be developed by 2012.
And is still in development phase..So beat it!!!

A simple answer after making use of common sense is: Hell! we are better!

O yes they did. Any doubts?
Everything is on record.

What a claim.
Don't tell me you don't reverse engineer.
Even the Americans reverse engineered, CIA has a complete department for this. They even have been catching planes and things from friendly Englishmen.
Well, yes Vijaynta product was an indigenous one;)

We also know the fate of that 'space' program.

then why doesnt pakistan develop something as simple as a SLV?
why do the Badrs of pakistan have to be launched by other space agencies?
dude..when you have the capability to fabricate a 2,500km+ missile...SLV is no big deal...
and are you suggesting that the pakistani scientists are better than chinese, indian, russian, american and the european scientists?
just say yes...and i will not pester.

then why doesnt pakistan develop something as simple as a SLV?
The answer is in this question:
Why don't we purchase/develope an Aircraft Carrier?

are you suggesting that the pakistani scientists are better than chinese, indian, russian, american and the european scientists?
i don't argue about the others but for sure they are better than indians!!

Really? Never heard of pakistani institute famous for technical education
institution ranked anywhere in the top 500 of the world..compared to India's 24 institutes in top 500..out of which the INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY india's premier T-school is ranked as the world's third best technical university..after MIT and Shengzou Univ..by the time magazine..

Talking about Indian scientists..let me tell you that the US parliament has passed a bill RECOGNIZING the contribution of IITians to the development of international industry and gives them special privelages...need i say more??Oh and ya...we dont have nuclear scientists indulging in nuclear proliferation and getting banned!!...but then thats pakistani tradition..

Well said brother!!!:yahoo:

some people really need to get over this "superpawaar" stuff!

the Brahmos missile, supposedly had successful tests until now, when the indians introduce a new guidance system? That only proves the fact that India acquired an export version of the Russian Yakhont missile, and until recently, when they contribute something of their own, the missile fails to complete its parameters.

the Brahmos is not a cruise missile. it is an anti-shipping missile-AShM-that was adopted for land-attack roles using a satellite guidance system. It can be compared to the likes of the AGM-84E Harpoon/SLAM or Stand-Off Land Attack Missile, which originally was an AShM.

more importantly, no one seems to notice that all the other AShM producing nations such as China, US, and France have refrained from using 'supersonic' AShM missiles. Only Russia has focused on 'supersonic' attack missiles, which speaks volumes about its capabilities. I don't need to get into the quality of russian weapon systems, I believe history has not been kind to russian weaponry.

I would also suggest that indians to refrain from this Brahmos-2 talk, the russians aren't transferring their ramjet technology to you, even though you contributed 50% or more of the financial aspects of the project. I guess this must be a very bad year for the indians.

Oh ya sure, this fact was instantly proved by the 'success' of Brahmos the other day and the ground breaking success of Vijayanta tank.

Thumbs up for the indian scientists!!

Something of our own??...lol dude in what language do I need to say that it was a 50-50 joint venture..
Just for your info Im quoting from wikipedia

"India has been responsible for the Navigational systems on the BrahMos, other aspects of its propulsion, airframe and seeker, plus its Fire Control Systems, Mobile Command posts and Transporter Erector Launcher. If you want I can translate it in urdu..

Export version of a missile??...Sir these are weapons not garments..

LOL brahmos is not a cruise missile???...hahahaha...:D:D
I dont know what to say on such intellegent comments...
just one thing using words you dont even seem to understand is not gonna make your post any more convicing...
Can you really compare them??Then go ahead..
Harpoons can reach a maximum speed of 864kmph...Brahmos cruises at 2.5 Mach max speed is of 3.7 mach...harpoons can cary a max warhead of 220 kgs to a range of 140km, compared to 750kgs of warhead and a minimum range of 294kms of brahmos..enough comparison there??

Brahmos is a cruise missile modified for primary use as a Anti-ship missile and later as Land Based and Air based platforms...

And again, Brahmos 2 continues to be based on Yakhont tech..and IS NOT using ramjet technology, man get your facts right...
We have managed to reach speeds upto 7 Mach with just Yakhont Technology...SIR!!!

No Sir, the fact is proved by the role of Indians in each and every technology in the world,..Let me just enlighten you..
Here are findings carried out by forbes magazine in 2007..
1. Every IITian has contributed $50 against every rupee spent on him
2. IITians have a budgetary responsibility of $885b
3. 54% of the top 500 companies in World have at least one IITian on their board
4. 25% of IITians in R&D of international industries
5. 10% of IITians doing social work
6. 2 of every 10 entrepreneurs in the world today are IITians
7. Every IItian has created 100 jobs in the world.
8. 78% of all the research being carried out in the world today has IITians.
The pentium chip on which the worlds computers today run was invented by a Indian again an IITian.

Indian Institute of Technology is a BRAND Sir, so dont you dare doubt India's Tech prowess..

Here's what Bill Gates had to say about India's primier T-school
"'And it's hard to think of anything like IIT anywhere in the world. It is a very unique institution.'.

"'And it's hard to think of anything like IIT anywhere in the world. It is a very unique institution.'.
Ya sure, unique enough to screw up in every field of practical and applied sciences.

Failures, failures and failures!!!
Keep the brand name covered inside a glass frame and keep on screwing!

Why donot Pakistan built some Quality Hospital first in their country ,every time i visit Apollo or Columbia in Bangalore to meet my friends there i see lot of Pakistani patients for treatment and surgery ,and surprised even many organ transplant are not done in Pakistan which even smaller towns Hospital in India do it, how come Pakistan have Best Brains in Ballistic Missiles (as claimed by some) But no Qualified Doctors only two qualified paediatric cardiac surgeons in whole of Pakistan, its not me its own Pak media who is saying it

More Money, More Problems

India Becoming Hub Of Surgery For Cancer Patients From Pakistan.

To correct you mate.

China has BOUGHT supersonic AShM's from Russia directly.

Secondly, US is currently developing a Supersonic LACM, Raytheon is the Prime Contractor.

Google.

You dont have to defend the 'honour' of IIT/IIM on a forum mate. Its respectable where it really counts.

Stop responding to flame baits.
