still your post sir defies logic out of 21 tests 20 succeded and one failed thats a success ratio of 95.32%.

pssssssssttt, Prove me your logicless logic. Dont you read newspaper daily? Russians should also stop helping india in making missiles are both of them cant go ahead.

India has a history of failed missles.

Akash: Failure: After several years of testing has been shelved for reasons best known to the Indians.

Trishul: Failure: Trishul is being replaced by Israeli Barak and Russian systems.

Prithvi: Failure: To date the only reliable delivery system inducted is the Pirthvimissile with a range of 300 kilometres. The pride of India the Agni missile tested last time landed 200 kilometres off target.

Nag: Failure: The Nag proved to be as deadily as the Holy Cow.

Can you please, tell us what was indian contribution in your claimed 50%?

Following is the Indian contribution:

1. Painting,
2. Putting Indian flag on it,
3. Writing on the missile "Made in India", and
4. Test firing

Don't mean to hurt any ones feelings. This is what I can come up. Any one can correct me.

India admits cruise missile test failed

NEW DELHI: A supersonic cruise missile jointly developed by Russia and India failed to hit its target in a test previously reported as successful, Indian military scientists said on Wednesday. “The missile performance was absolutely normal until the last phase, but it missed the target, though it maintained the direction,” BrahMos project chief Sivathanu Pillai told the Press Trust of India. “A new software used for this mission will be revalidated through extensive simulations and a flight trial will be carried out in a month’s time to prove the augmented capabilities of the missile,” he said. afp

Maybe that's the reason Indian missiles are famous for falling off-target from their original destination.

BrahMos to be tested again within a month
22 Jan 2009, 0000 hrs IST, TNN

NEW DELHI: A day after the land-attack version of BrahMos failed to perform properly during a test at the Pokhran firing range, defence
scientists on Wednesday declared they would test-fire the supersonic cruise missile within a month after rectifying the errors. ( Watch )

"The missile in itself is proven. The test's main objective was to evaluate the new homing scheme for the Army's Block-II missiles to hit a specific small target, with a low radar cross-section, in a multi-target environment," BrahMos Aerospace chief A Sivathanu Pillai told TOI.

"The complicated mission called for an advanced algorithm and intelligence embedded in the missile. The problem was in the software, not hardware. We are now revalidating the new software through extensive simulations. We will test the missile again within a month,"
he added.

As reported earlier by TOI, the Army wants to induct the 290-km-range BrahMos missile, which flies at a speed of 2.8 Mach, as "a precision strike weapon".

It has already placed orders for two BrahMos regiments in the first phase at a cost of Rs 8,352 crore, with 134 missiles, 10 road-mobile autonomous launchers on 12x12 Tatra vehicles, four mobile command posts and the like.

Pakistan, on its part, is inducting its nuclear-capable Babur land-attack cruise missile (LACM), developed with China's help to have a strike range of over 500 km, in large numbers into its arsenal.

Even as India and Russia begin preliminary work on a "hypersonic" BrahMos-2 missile capable of flying at a speed between 5-7 Mach, two Indian Sukhoi-30MKI fighters have also been sent to Russia for integration with BrahMos' air-launched version.

The Navy has already inducted the BrahMos missile's naval version on a couple of its warships and has placed orders worth Rs 711 crore for 49 firing units. The armed forces' eventual plan is to have nuclear-tipped LACMs, with strike ranges in excess of 1,500-km.

Every effort is made here to raise the concerns. Even Space is criticized. will you be happy if India nuclear tips its one of the satellite launchers and claims it to be an ICBM ? India will never do that because it visions future and the role that it will have in global industry.

By the way indias missile programme structure is much different than yours. A lot of weired stuff is tested and things are put beyound limits which is why sometimes it does fails.

If you haven't failed meand you have missed testing a lot of things that would have caused a failure. It reveals vital statistics. Just that thinkings are different.

By the way stop posting old links but definitely do if that makes you happy :)

Nag will be going through a series of testing very soon and lets see the results.

BrahMos missed the target

T.S. Subramanian

CHENNAI: A software glitch during the terminal stage of the flight of supersonic cruise missile BrahMos on Tuesday led to the missile falling short of its target. The Army fired the missile at the Pokhran range in Rajasthan.

It was a modified BrahMos with a new software to make it “more intelligent” and hit a given target (a structure) out of a number of small buildings but it missed the target, said A. Sivathanu Pillai, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BrahMos Aerospace.
New software

Two regiments of the Army already have Block I version of the missile. BrahMos Aerospace had come up with a Block II version without changing the missile’s major systems that were proven in the previous 17 flights. But the Block II version had new software to improve the missile’s operational capability.

The software aimed at making the missile more “intelligent” so that it possessed a sense of “discrimination.” In other words, it would “select” the given target out of a number of small targets and pulverise it.
“Beautiful take-off”

Dr. Pillai said the missile had a “beautiful take-off” and “performed well” but a problem occurred in the new software. “So the target was not hit. It just missed the target. When we do something new, it can go either way,” he pointed out.

The flight involved a lot of terminal-stage manoeuvres, which were difficult to perform at a supersonic speed of nearly three times the speed of sound. The issue, which was identified and analysed, was “not serious.”

“The new algorithm has to be re-validated through many simulation runs and we will get foolproof software so that such complicated mission requirements are met …We are confident that we will do another launch within a month.”
Small targets

Asked about a similar mission being successful in a previous flight at the Pokhran range, Dr. Pillai said the targets then were bigger buildings. But in this mission, the missile had to pick and hit “a small, hidden” building out of “multiple targets.”

Dr. Pillai denied that the missile was reconfigured to carry nuclear warheads. It would carry only conventional warheads, he asserted.

I think they are experimenting with AI(artificial inteligence) in Brahmos.
To Distinguish the target and go for the most optimistic target.
Let see what will be the outcome of next test ,then we can have more clear picture on this issue.
:)

And now it is also clear that this test was for Block II for Brahmos, which may be somewhat like user-cum-development trial, not schedule trial of Block I version.

Now what kind of comment is that. that too in this thread. But its true that we are more hungry for missiles than food. Or may be india should give some money to Pak instead of spending it in defence. I think you already accept US dollars. don't you?

read my earlier posts to find the proper analysis with logic and regarding russias missile technology the less that you say would be better because
sir you just have no idea about its capabilities just try asking the americans and nato members about it. bring in the red ,green, blue, yellow and whatever you want and you will see for yourself where you stand in terms of missile technology compared to russia,s.

and sir as far as reading the news papers is concerned it seems you havent read the articles in between the lines before you came to the conclusion.

thanx
