India Considers Buying 126 Eurofighters From Germany

I would say go for FA-18 Super Hornet !!.....:undecided: Every body is giving some comment, so this is mine with photo......:D

a lot cheaper than Rafale and EFT, but inferior than both multiple categories, but she can carry a good load of weapons and perform A2G missions no problem

did you know the original hornet is based on the one of the fighters for LWF competition and lost against the F-16
Northrop YF-17 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

super hornet is definitely beefier

if India can get 126 of them for $70 mil a piece plus a nice weapons package to go with it, makes my mouth water.

.
@he-man How about this??

FA-18... FA-18.... FA-18......I demand FA-18 Duper Hornet.....:D

No..............usa is a danger,it can sanction anyone at anytime.
I would have gone for additional pakfa/fgfa.

But fair enough even rafale/ef are very good.

No use..................we are gonna upgrade mki's soon enough with aesa and other goodies.
But we are looking at something much more advanced,,,,,and f-18 is simply not that.

The main purpose is to counter china and rafale/ef will give us an edge.

And then no one trusts usa due to issue of sanctions.............at least not in strategic weapons like mainstream fighter jet

Sorry man, I am a non expert considering def equipments. But as I read about its performance and price tags, looks and a bit (lots) of trust (lack of it on part of US past experience) would have been better for IAF to go for it.

While Eurofighter Consortium has had some success with half a dozen operators, the French are still desperate for an export launch customer for their Rafael. India could have squeezed out a very favourable deal but then the Rafael may not be all it's hyped out by some...... after all, under ideal circumstances, PAF did evaluated and rejected the French fighter. !!
What a coincidence. Back then, a Pakistani friend of mine evaluated and rejected both a Ferrari and a Jag. Bought a Toyota Mehran instead. :)

aren't you just little exaggerating over U.S control over the U.K and E.U. I know the whole mess with Ukraine screams puppets of U.S, but a strong India to counter balance China is what we want, so no sanctions.

AESA I bet they are working on one right now for Typhoon
A2G is limited, but later tranches are fixing that.

still IMO the Rafale is the best option.

Don't count your chickens before the eggs are hatched buddy, The Ukrainian crisis isn't over yet and with Russia and US again at odds.....it could team up China and Russia as well as potentially India and Pakistan on this side!

Actually another rumor is that India is planning to pay Nawaz Sharif 1 billion dollars in his swiss bank to scuttle the JF 17 program and F 16 upgrade program. With that out of the way, India can wait another 4-5 years for the MMRCA. Win Win... reverse arms race. Every one saves money :D

God!! I thought you guys were politically a lot smarter!

Why pay NS a Billion $$ when he would be willing to do all that for 100 Million $$?? Overestimated the man, didn't you?

then what's the point of round tables

:bounce::bounce:

It's for the benefit of puppets where the puppeteer (US) allows them face saving when they return to their countries to implement the US directives.

I think Pakistan will protest China if we sell you guys J10b. To be honest, J10B is really worth the price it tags. With the price you pay dassault, you can go for F35. Some times you don't know how much envy i've got for India about the easy access to western technology, we are totally isolated.

We won't protest, trust me.

Each country on the planet wants allies, similarly so do we. If not china then some one else who may be interested in the sub continent :)

What is that ZZZ avatar? are you feeling sleepy??....:D

Thanks for reminding about the avatar ...... Need to change it .

One of the members yesterday told me that this was the flag of a South African white supremacist organisation .

Guys stop trolling,,,discuss the topic at hand

The reason why India prefers rafale is because it doesn't use US parts . In short India is looking for non-US military platform

That and rafale was simply the best among the competition:D

The recent rumor is that India plans to induct 126 J10B from CHina, of which 100 of it will be produced in India with TOT. CHina also agrees India's payment proposal by rice and curry.

Awesome..................we have plenty of rice for hungry chinese:rofl::rofl::rofl:

This is what's USA foreign policy today and tomorrow it can change and we saw it in past so not reliable choice.
