India Considers Buying 126 Eurofighters From Germany

The other parties might be interested if the gates are opened.
I believe Americans would jump in to the mud pool and maybe swedish too.
It might trigger another set of media campaigns.
Dont you think?

This whole deal was badly handled imo. It would have been far better to know the financial offers of the Gripen & F18 & then compare the cost benefit with the additional abilities of the Rafale & EF. we could then have looked at necessary upgradations on those aircrafts to be able to better evaluate. Otherwise we are in a situation like now where we simply don't know how this is going to be paid for. We have shortlisted the two costliest planes & are comparing them. The initial advance alone would be about $2-2.5 billion (about 15000 +crores). IAF's entire capital expenses budget for the year is about Rs.21000 crores. IAF has already used the bulk of the money on the chopper deal with the US. One more year gone down the chute.:hitwall:

And to top it up, the commitment over FGFA with huge money involved.

Meanwhile Brazil, which had a similar programe for procurement is in a phase of procurement with arrangement of Gripen C and D , until Gripen NG arrives.

Mistral row: France risks losing Rafale contract in India | Russia & India Report

Mistral row: France risks losing Rafale contract in India
September 5, 2014 Alexander Korablinov, RIR
A leading French analyst believes that France’s credibility as a reliable supplier of weapons is at stake if it refuses to send the Mistral-class amphibious warships to Russia.

France risks losing a contract to supply 126 fighter jets to India due to its refusal to deliver Mistral-class ships to Russia, a leading French analyst told the Delovoi Peterburg website. French officials said this week that they will not deliver the first Mistral-class amphibious warship that Russia had ordered as part of a $1.7 billion agreement for weapons sale.

Military sanctions against Russia: Who is the real loser?

The biggest repercussion would be a loss of reputation for France as a reliable supplier, Arnaud Dubien, a Russia research associate at the Institut de relations Internationales et Strategiques said. “Officials from the French Ministry of Defence, in private conversations acknowledge that if they fail to deliver the Mistral to Russia, then France will lose its contract to supply 126 fighter jets to India,” Dubien said.

Dubien believes that the decision of French President Francois Hollande, to suspend the delivery of the Mistral, is not final, and was taken under tremendous pressure from the United States and Germany. He added that a final decision would be taken by November on the delivery of the warships, and a lot would depend on how the situation in Ukraine panned out.

A source in the Indian Defence Ministry said that India was “watching the developments closely.” The source added it was too early to say if this would factor into the government’s decision to sign a contract. “When such a large amount of money is paid and then a supplier uses geopolitics to delay or suspend deliveries, it does raise eyebrows,” the source, who was not authorised to talk to the media, said. The Indian Ministry of Defence could not be immediately reached for official comment.

India is continuing its final negotiations for acquiring 126 French Rafale fighters in a deal that would cost around $22 billion. France’s Dassault Aviation won a bid to supply India with Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircrafts and a final contract is being dubbed as the “mother of all deals,” by many sections of the Indian media. Russia, Britain, the U.S. and Sweden have all made attempts to re-enter the race to sell their aircrafts.

Indian Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha told the Hindustan Times that a deal for the Rafale is “going to happen soon.” Industry watchers in Delhi however say that there will be growing pressure to reconsider France given the volte-face the country made this week when it came to the supply of the Mistral ships to Russia.

So according to you PAF considered both Rafael and EFT and rejected them; for what? Junk Fighter-17 , A plane which is inferior to F-16.

You simply cannot admit that they were fine plane rejected only because of Price issues.
Why is India on one side going for a multi- billion dollar deal, yet even after delay of two decades, still persuing the LCA or better known as Little Confused Aircraft......obviously you don't have the comprehension ability to understand the motive......in any case, the Rafel or the EFT weren't rejected in favour of JF-17.....which is a separate subject altogether.

I would say go for FA-18 Super Hornet !!.....:undecided: Every body is giving some comment, so this is mine with photo......:D

Thats what I was talking about - another BS like this one again written by a russian. WTF do the russians have to do with rafale and EF other getting their mistrals?.

Propaganda can be a powerful tool,, but not when its so stupid.

.
Russian news source are getting so unreliable now days. First they said India Interested in S 500,now this one.

. . . .
I think france made a mistake by cancelling Mistral deal as for MMRCA we are satisfied with performance of French Mirage-2000 which performed excellently during India's Kargil war and would like to have Rafale which is of similar design

.
The India Today report says that the EF was offered at $17.5 billion as against the Rafale's $20 billion. The earlier EF offer was calculated at $21 billion.

That maybe the case,,,in that case french will revise the offer too i think

It seems you are not focused.. EFT is one of the best Fighter.. India selected Rafale doesn't mean that is superior to prior.. Kindly go thru archive discussion on EFT and Rafale in Indian MMRCA sticky thread...

EFT is best.. But Rafale fit best in our requirement..

Read the swiss evaluation report plus without aesa(current config) Ef is behind rafale.............................simple

Its not.
Not even a dog would be stupid to reject rafale/EF for jf-17.

Try to be objective for once in ur life...............the good thing about brain is that its adaptable,u still have hope:D

.
@he-man How about this??

FA-18... FA-18.... FA-18......I demand FA-18 Duper Hornet.....:D

.
It's not exactly like going for a test drive.....back then, PAF considered both the Rafael and EFT.

Don't humiliate urself again and again by lying,,,pakistan never had money for rafale
